IC VS CPPS

Post by cadyfatcat »

I was diagnosed with IC in march of 2007 via potassium sensitivity test. Since then I have improved greatly, and the better I get the more my symptoms fall in line with PFD and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome rather than IC. When I first started having symptoms, that was also the case...it was only when my symptoms went untreated and spiraled out of control that my symptoms pointed to IC.

I was wondering if there is anyone in the boards who has been diagnosed with IC and subsequently found that , while their bladder may have been a source of pain, their symptoms ultimately originated in the nerves and musculature of the pelvis.

Also, how did you receive the diagnosis of IC?

To be honest, I think IC/CPPS/PDF is basically the same thing, but with different symptoms for each individual, that in turn affect them differently as well. What everyone has in common is some type/level of neuro-muscular issue going on that affects all the organs/muscles/nerves in the vicinity of the pelvic area.
Age: 46 | Onset Age: 45 | Symptoms: "gotta go to the bathroom feeling almost constantly, even after I go."
