Odd glans penis pain/ CPPS? (Alphalifestyle)

Post by Alphalifestyle »

Gentlemen, I seriously need your advice. I have chronic pain in the penis tip, which may be related to CPPS. It thought it was caused by a minor injury, but it seems not to heal, so maybe it really is muscle related... I had some issues with my sex organ specially and health in general before, so I will start with this, maybe its important...

Lets see: Approximately 3 month ago, my symptoms looked like this: Very low - non existing libido Uncomfortable Ejaculation/Discomfort after ejaculation most of the time, very few erections extreme muscle tension all over the body, especially back, pelvic floor and legs! blurred vision/Visual snow low appetite many other minor discomforts and symptoms

I visited many doctors so and they all seem not to find anything physically, which could be a sign, that its all muscle tension related...

3 month ago I think I injured my penis. I was in a hurry when I just pied and then I scratched with the tip of the penis/urethra opening over my zipper. It hurt, but I thought it wasn't really injured, but I had a permanent pain at the right side of the tip of my penis and directly under it. Today, the tip of the penis looks a LITTLE red on the lower part and it seems that the tissue, where the two sides/lips of the penis tip connect, is injured just slightly, the tissue looks like just a thin piece of skin holding it together. The right side of the urethra seems also damaged in a strange way, there are no scars, but even after 3 month touching it hurts and it seems like the tissue lost solidity, it feels to weak/soft, like a piece of sponge. Sometimes it sticks at the toilet paper, if I clean my penis after toilet. Really hard to explain, but to sum it up: I have the impression, that the tissue at the tip of my penis changed/damaged and it lost solidity and also it hurts when I/my girlfriend/my underwear/my bedsheet touches my penis tip.

Could such a minor injury, which hasn't even bleed lead to permanent damage of glans tissue? I always felt that my penis had bad blood circulation because of my condition (CPPS or whatever it is) and the tissue wasn't as elastic as it should be (often shrunken, rigid penis in flaccid state, sometimes cold). Maybe a normal penis would heal, but my "exhausted penis" is not able to heal the injury probably?

OK lets continue the story, before I finally decided to go to the doctor, I did something rather stupid: I thought, that maybe my penis needs better circulation/blood supply, so I started massaging it with babyoil for like 45 min every day, until I had a really full erection. I massaged the penis and the glans and tried to press more blood into the penis to get more fresh blood into it. After some days of doing it, I noticed, that my glans was like really weak, it felt like a little piece of sponge, really soft and sensitive. Probably the whole massage thing was not healthy at all for my already weakened penis and I aggravated the problem. After ca. 10 days of doing the massage my penis was really small shrunken, most of the time COLD, the glans felt really small and soft, sticky, wet (?) and all the glans felt uncomfortable touching, the skin of my penis was also very painful to touch and strangely sticky.

Now after many, many weeks, the symptoms mentioned in the last paragraph got a little better, but all in all its still really bad. I have a really painful penis tip, like I said the tissue at the opening seems damaged, touch/sexual stimulation is painful and not comfortable at all, sport is almost impossible, when I touch the penis it often shrinks and goes cold and as if it all where not strange enough already, my legs and feets sometimes also hands get cold (?). Libido is super low, erection in the morning, few spontaneous erections. Biggest problem the sensitive, painful tip of the penis, which can burn and hurt for hours if irritated and the soft, a little numb and uncomfortable to touch glans penis at a whole.

I saw two urologists about it, they both said the glans and penis looks totally normal, even after my insisting that you can see little change and irritaten at the tip. They both said, such a minor injury would heal by itself and tissue damage as I expect it, wouldn't be possible. One of the urologists took a bloodtest so, because after examination he found that I have unusal enlarged lymph nodes in the groin area and I suspects a deeper lying health problem. After reading A headache in the pelvic, I think that my former problems and maybe even the tip pain could be caused by CPPS. I mean 2 urologist ruled out real physical damage, they also said it could not be that I injured a nerve. Also the painful tension I hold in my upper legs, pelvic floor, neck, back and shoulders, groins... EVERYWHERE could probably mean that it is a problem caused by muscle tension. I couldn't find one single trigger point yet so... the muscles just feel sore and tight.

The pain and coldness makes sport and movement in general VERY uncomfortable, I feel really weakened and uncomfortable in general and feel depressed about the not changing pain and sensitivity of my penis tip. I am really afraid that I caused permanent damage to my organ.

Please tell me if all this strange sensations and symptoms could be caused by chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and how I should proceed. There is no affordable triggerpoint therapist in Germany where I live and nobody who would do a rectal triggerpoint massage anyway. Can I do anything by myself?

Do you guys think Vacuum Cupping Massage could be a alternative for self massage: http://www. actionlove. com/msg. htm? Any idea on what I can do to restore health in my sex organs, get rid of the tension and get a higher libido? I don't know what to do anymore...
Age: 26 | Onset Age: 16 (but got much worse around 22) | Symptoms: hard, cold flaccid penis; reduced sensation/numbness; diminished erections; premature ejaculation; urinary frequency; burning urination; urgency (bladder and urethea inflammation); painful ejaculation | Helped By: Exercise, cold shower, internal massage, massage of inner tights, abstinence, stretching | Worsened By: sex/masturbation; working on the computer too long | Other comments: I am always worrying it is nerve-related and cannot heal naturally.

Alpha,

Welcome....

First....Just reading your post you sound like a very high anxiety type of person. Have you seen a therapist to deal with your stress and anxiety? I would bet your low libido and pain is from anxiety and stress. Get the help to learn how to relax the body and most importantly the pelvic floor. Read up in this forum to learn about the protocols to help you slowly recover.

Best, Carl...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I'm with you on the pain in the tip issue. I have the exact redness you describe its been here for a year now. what I have found to be helpful. if you wear loose fitting boxers, throw them away and stock up on boxer briefs. soft cotton. stuff that won't chafe. this reduced my complaints by 90 percent. also I have found that when I have bowel problems the pain in tip gets worse due to the tension so I just started taking a fiber supplement to ease the pressure on my bowels lots of relief there. probably want to try a hot bath that helps relax muscles. also do the stretches, they really help.
Good to go!

@carld: I already read Headache in the pelvic, I would like to do the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, but I live in Germany, we neither have a therapist for internal triggerpoint massage nor for the paradoxical relaxation. So what should I do?

But you guys think, that the pain in the penis tip which appears with every touch or pressing the glans together, could be caused by triggerpoints/tension?
I feel especially strong tension and painful muscles in my thighs and my lower back. Could this refer pain to the glans and even make the glans softer, less circulated and painful/sensitive. Can it cause the tissue to get red and painful?

Unusual CPPS symptoms

Post by Alphalifestyle »

Hallo Gentleman,
I have some questions about my condition. I started a thread some days ago already, but I think I expressed myself in a too complicated manner and didn't get much response. So this time I will keep it short and sweet! :biggrin(1):

Ok I basically just need confirmation if my problems could be CPPS. I read Headache in the pelvic, I am familiar with the concept and treatment, but some of my symptoms I haven't found in the book.

Well my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome typical symptoms would be: post-ejaculation discomfort, burning sensation during urination, low libido, some problems with erections, MUSCLE tension and painful to palpation all over the body, especially neck, back, legs, pelvic, GROINS!

On the other hand I have some wired issues with my penis lately and I don't know what to make out off this, it could be just some other symptoms of CPPS, but they are very strange ones for sure:
  • Glans Penis (penis head) is lacking in the normal arousing feeling when touched, feels numb, lessened sensitivity
  • the tip of the penis is uncomfortable to touch
  • penis as well as the skin on the shaft often feel very sticky, clammy.
  • penishead is often white, seems like bad bloodflow
  • glans is kinda cold most of the time, sometimes also the shaft.
  • penis head feels to soft, weak, kinda mashy, lacks in rigidity, soft and erect.
  • pain/strain around penis tip
  • coldness from the penis extending to legs and feet.
  • painful to press on the underside of the penis, especially near the glans
  • upon touch or pressure, I feel kind of a uncomfortable pain in the glans
  • sexual stimulation is extremely uncomfortable, touching the glans feel uncomfortable and even painful, lack of pleasurable feeling.
What speaks for triggerpoint referral so is this: The most intense pain I feel, when I aim the showerhead on the topside of my glans, especially near the hole. I then feel a more intense pain in the glans and simultaneously I feel how the muscles in my lower back contract and get even more tight, the pain kinda shoots into the back, so maybe the pain in my glans is referred to from the back muscles?

So could these problems be related to CPPS? I know for a fact, that most of the muscles described in the book are extremely tense in my body, I have bad breathing due to the tense back and abdominal muscles, issues with anxiety and nervousness.
Could chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome induce numbness/pain/coldness in the penis even for 3 month now?

None of your symptoms are unusual and most are typical of CPPS. Many men have noticed lessened sensations, softer glans, discoloration, sensations of warmth/cold etc. All of these symptoms are mediated by nerves. Hope this helps.

Ok thank you sir, that is reassuring. What about other symptoms that are not directly related to the pevlis floor.
I suffer also from muscle tension in the rest of my body, especially neck, back and legs. I never really feel hungry, low energy, digestive problems, feeling stressed, etc. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY it is hard to breath easily and softly from the abdomen, because the muscles around it feel so tight.
Could these symptoms also be part of the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome disorder?

What about sex? Could it be harmful, when the penis feels so soft, fragile and numb? I didn't have sex for some month now, but I have a new girlfriend, but don't know about it because of my condition... it feels like the glans is more easily injured in this condition, this tissue seems weak and unelastic. Is this just how it feels or can injury really happen easier?

Common. So do I.

Yes.

No, not harmful unless done to ridiculous excess, in which case it becomes one more burden on the area's nerves. Try to keep all muscles relaxed when ejaculating.

So, are these other kinds of tensions, pains and dysfunction a result of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome or is chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome just a part of a broader disorder?

Could it be possible that some kind of hormonal/metabolic disorder is behind this? For example adrenal fatigue, thyroid disorder, low testosterone, maybe a nutritional deficit or toxins in the body?

I found a very good institute here in Germany were you can do all kind of tests the normal doctor doesn't offer, like salvia test for cortisol, DHEA, etc., they also do a complete profil for possible nutrional deficits from minerals, vitamines to amino acids.

I mean PROBABLY stress/anxiety is causing most of the symptoms of muscle tension and the sexual/pain problems caused by that, right?
But for example in my life my symptoms gradually started when I was around 14 years old, so maybe the rootcause of the anxiety/bad tolerance for stress is that some hormones/neurotransmitters are messed up or the body needs something essential.
Do you know of anyone who got better through testing and supplementing with high quality vitamins/minerals, etc.?
I could imagine, that a high quality multi vitamine, extra magnesium and zinc + fishoil and borage oil could indeed help with the condition.

Recent reserach suggests that CP/CPPS is a whole-body disorder.

Yes, or even more complex than that. But one thing we have established: it's not due to an infection in your prostate gland!
I found a very good institute here in Germany were you can do all kind of tests the normal doctor doesn't offer, like salvia test for cortisol, DHEA, etc., they also do a complete profil for possible nutritional deficits from minerals, vitamines to amino acids.
Get in contact with Dr Jordan Dimitrakov for guidance on testing.

Stress is a big disrupter of the human endocrine system, and can also cause inflammation and trigger points. If you have CPPS, you need to try very hard to avoid it. Nothing is worth it.
But for example in my life my symptoms gradually started when I was around 14 years old, so maybe the rootcause of the anxiety/bad tolerance for stress is that some hormones/neurotransmitters are messed up or the body needs something essential.
If this were caused by a nutritional deficiency, we'd know by now.

Some supplement recommendations here:

I also recommend walnuts (high in omega-3 oils).

I would humbly add that avoiding constipation is also a very good thing when you have CPPS. I'm chronically constipated due to IBS, and nothing quite flares me like that.
I am not a physician. This is not medical advice. Consult your doctor!

Age: 26 Onset Age: 17 Symptoms: Shooting, nerve-like pains throughout the penis, which abruptly hit and leave. Testicular pain, perineum pain, burning/irritative urination, extended pain after ejaculation. Occasionally, some allodynia or ache in the coccyx/sacrum/thigh/buttocks/legs. Diagnosis: Pelvic floor dysfunction, degenerated lumbar disk, and mildly herniated lumbar disk. Helped By: Physical therapy, pain management doctor, hot baths, therapy pool, stretching regimen, breathing exercises, relaxation, distraction. Worsened By: Arousal/ejaculation (worst), constipation, panicking/obsessing, other triggers depend upon current symptoms. Tests/Prior Treatments: Too many antibiotics to count, multiple urine tests (all normal), testicular ultrasound (normal), bladder and renal ultrasound (normal), lumbar and pelvic MRI with and w/o contrast (revealed disk problems), Elavil 25mg (caused retention), Flomax 0.4mg.

hi,

I had a very similar set of symptoms and I looked around on databases reporting on Neuralgia and nerve pain. Damaged or inflamed nerves cause weird skin sensations and changes - including things like redness and bumps (like goose-bumps you get when cold).

I'd take the earlier advice and buy tight cotton undies to stop movement and do as much relaxing as possible (not just general relaxation, but learn to relax the pelvic floor and muscles around it).

Of course, you should check all this out with a Dr first.

cheers

@perth: Thank you for the reply, very good to know! :)

But if damaged or irritated nerves are the cause, how would soft underwear and relaxation help to heal them? Is there anything else one could do to promote nerve healing?

Yesterday I tried to have sex with my new girlfriend, she knows about my problem, but when I tried to penetrate her, I didn't really feel anything with my glans, which was much to limp and only after several tries I was able to get it in, because the pain on the tip always made my erection fade away.
Also wearing a condom is almost impossible, because as soon as I put it on the glans, my penis gets limp. Its like my glans is not only softer, lacks in feeling and painful to touch, but it even makes my erections go away if I touch it!?!
:boom: To hell with this...

I think I will start with daily self-massage, vacuum cupping massage and Qi Gong and Bodyscan relaxation now and buy the 5th edition of HITP to get things going.

I think relaxation, good blood circulation and oxygen/nutrition supply are the basics for healing.

Any constant stimulus to the nerves involved in that area can be irritating. The goal is to rest the nerves.
Is there anything else one could do to promote nerve healing?
Yes, avoid food that irritates the area, avoid tensing pelvic muscles from tension/stress and during sex, combat things that goose the nerves via cross-talk like constipation and IBS, avoid kegels, avoid bodybuilding exercises that flex the pelvic muscles, etc.
Yesterday I tried to have sex with my new girlfriend, (snip)
Start out gently with sex. Make it more playful. While you are unwell with CPPS, don't make intercourse the only goal of sexual activity.

Do everything you can to avoid chafing that area. Apply a bandage/medical tape there if needed.
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.

Not medical advice. Consult your doctor.
