Think I've Gotten Through it

Post by yorkere »

I became afflicted with what was apparently Non-Bacterial Prostatitis last January. It was the aftermath of a bladder infection, caused by a catheter insertion for a bladder function test a few days after I had laser prostate surgery for BPH. After ~3 months of antibiotics, there were no indications of infection, but I then discovered I'd been stuck with Prostatitis. The symptoms were relatively mild compared to what others have reported, but I was nevertheless horrified, and terrified it would WORSEN! As apparently usual, my urologists had nothing to offer me.

Here it is, 10+ months later, and it definitely feels as if it has essentially left me. Staying OFF caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods definitely did the job. Nothing else had any effect whatsoever on the symptoms, the worst of which was painful and lasting protest from the perineum and privates as a consequence of climax. Once in awhile, I may feel a very slight sensation at the anterior perineum, just aft of the scrotum, but it passes. . .

I do wish the same good fortune to all others who are afflicted with this nightmare. . .

About 2.5 months after PVP (Photo-Selective Vaporization) prostate surgery, which resulted in retrograde ejaculation. A feeling of uncomfortable fullness or congestion in the linear path between the rear of my scrotum and my anus. When finger pressure is applied anywhere along this path and then released, there is a feeling of re-congestion that takes place. Sometimes it feels as if there is a heavy uncomfortable sensation at the end of urination. Ejaculation seems to have initiated this whole thing, and sometimes when there is a lull in the discomfort, exercise seems to worsen it.

Always good to read of someone coming through the otherside of this condition.

Well done and all the best for the future. :-D

Richard:

Thanks; I do know enough to realize that there can be a return, but I'm continuing to hope I'll escape that. When the vague episodes of slight discomfort are also gone, then I'll REALLY start to feel safe!

I do intend staying aware of what's going on here....
