Hi everyone. I guess I just need an outlet today on what I've been feeling of late. I'm not having a lot of urinary frequency lately or even feelings of having to go too much. I have an occasional period of frequency, but when I go I really seem to have to go. I've been going 4 - 6 times a day average, but I still get up after 4 - 6 hours at night to go when I sleep usually. That part besides the overnight going seems better than when this all started.
However, I am in the last few days having more periods of irritation after I pee especially at work where I have to sit even though I did buy one of those pelvic friendly cushions. It's a sometimes liquidy, sometimes slightly burning, sometimes tingly feeling in the supapubic region. Sometimes it's a little more intense than others. It is more aggravating then a total agony kind of deal, but it wears on my nerves after a while. It is better if I walk around and at home if I lie down or when I'm going to bed it pretty much goes away. I can get an erection okay, but the irritation is there when I masturbate so it's not that much fun to do that these days. Ejaculation seems to come much more easily than it used to and oddly enough the spasms of pleasure are sometimes more intense and longer lasting than they used to be as well. I have had some form of irritation pretty much from the beginning although it was more in the penis area in the beginning and seems to have "moved" deeper down for lack of a better term. It is more manageable than when it was in the penis, but still quite annoying and frustrating. It also used to seem worse after a bowel movement, but now seems worse after urination.
I'm curious if anyone else has or has had similar symptoms to these. I am trying to get an appt to see a PT who deals with pelvic floor dysfunction to see if she can find anything. Not sure if she knows about the SP or not, but it's hard to find someone who deals with men. Does anyone know of a PT in MD who they could recommend to do a pelvic floor exam? The one I found is at Johns Hopkins Bayview.

Re: My current symptoms
Hi Jerry,
Glad to hear that your frequency issues have reduced. Everyone is naturally a little different when it comes to how often they need the bathroom, and of course, it will also vary according to your fluid intake. I go about four times a day myself, typically, so I don't think you're unwell in that respect.
It's good that you're seeking out some therapy for your pelvic floor. Urination does involve muscular action, and irritation following the act is certainly common in CPPS, regardless.
We think getting checked for pelvic floor dysfunction is a good idea for everyone. If it turns out you have it, then you can receive treatment and will likely find improvement. If you don't, at least the examination is only as invasive as a finger in the rectum, without any risky instrumentation!

Re: My current symptoms
Thanks, Jay. I don't really want to say I'm hoping I have pelvic floor dysfunction, but I'd like to get some kind of physical reason for what is causing this. I realize that I may mentally/psychologically have caused or am causing this somehow, but it must be some kind of physical problem that I can focus on to try and get on the path of feeling normal again.

Jerry I have very similar symptoms to yours and the urinary frequency is quite annoying and seems to dominate my life. I am finally going to see a PT later this month and hopefully this will help.

Re: My current symptoms
My frequency seems to be much better overall the last couple months, although I do have some periods of it usually early in the morning after I get up. I just seem to have irritation now every time after I void or have a bowel movement which will sometimes turn into an overall soreness of varying degrees until I void again. I have been doing some of the stretches in HITP and maybe they are helping a little. I've also been taking the any accredited quercetin product for over a month now. Not sure if it's helping, but things have improved overall from where I was earlier in the year.mpozatek wrote:Jerry I have very similar symptoms to yours and the urinary frequency is quite annoying and seems to dominate my life. I did see a PT yesterday who seems to know her stuff. She at least had read HITP and could relate to the issues I'm having. She did find a few areas of tenderness/tightness/weakness and said my pelvis was rotated which I took to mean as out of balance. She hasn't done the full internal check yet. I believe she will do that in my next session. Interestingly, right after the session ended was about the best it's felt in a long time.
