Quercetin
Well I have been taking 1 x 500mg high potency Quercetin now for a week and wow I am impressed, an hour or two after taking it my aches and pains are significantly reduced. It also seems to be helping a bit with my hayfever symptoms! I bought mine in the Uk from a company called Natures Best - £9.99 for 60 tablets which was the best deal I could find on the net for a decent quality. I couldnt take any accredited quercetin product due to one of the ingredients not agreeing with my stomach but I am ok with the quercetin on its own and would recommend anyone not taking quercetin supplements (and not Quercetin) to definately give them a go!
Age: 33 | Onset Age: 32 Initial Symptoms: Frequent urination Current Symptoms: The odd feeling of frequency but not much else Helped By: Not thinking about it, hot bath, red wine, light exercise, Bowen technique seems to help, getting on with my life Worsened By: catastrophic thinking, worrying things will get worse, feeling depressed, reading websites too often! Work! Sitting in work all day isn't good!! Current Progress : Since 1st Sept 08, no pain!!! :)

Re: Quercetin
I think I may have the same problem with any accredited quercetin product as you do. Ever since I've started taking it I've suffered from diarrhea. I don't know for sure that the any accredited quercetin product is the problem, but if not the onset seems extremely coincidental. I think I'll have to go off of it for a few days and see if my bowel problems improve.
If I do have to substitute straight quercetin instead does anyone who lives in the U.S. have any suggestions of a reputable brand I could try?

Re: Quercetin
If you cannot tolerate the Quercetin suppliers products, try Twinlabs.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: Quercetin
The only Twin Labs product I can find online seems to have 1400mg of Vitamin C in it. To me that seems like a lot. Sometimes when I feel like I'm coming down with a cold, I'll take 1000mgs of Vitamin C, and that is way more than the normal recommended value.
If I were to take this supplement on a daily basis, I would be getting 2800mg of Vitamin C. That would be taking 4666% of the daily recommended value. Is it safe to have that much Vitamin C? Or is there another product that doesn't have Vitamin C in it?

Re: Quercetin
You cannot overdose on Vit C (Linus Pauling took 9000mg/day and lived into his 90s). But a lot of Vit C can burn the bladder, so look to another brand then.

Lance Armstrong FRS=Quercetin
I'd seen lots of internet ads for an energy supplement FRS endorsed by Lance Armstrong but only read it today - the main ingredient is quercetin! They make drinks, powders, energy chews, etc. They claim it "helps adrenaline" which is interesting in our context. Each delivery system has 250-350mg. of quercetin they recommend drinking/chewing twice daily. You can sign up for a "free" sample kit but it will autoship until you cancel, supposedly is available in GNC. My any accredited quercetin product has 825mg. of quercetin and other stuff (bee pollen). Check it out at http://www.frs.com/ just for grins. Wonder if anyone's tried it? Has some B vitamins in it as well. The research articles are interesting yet none are in peer-reviewed articles.
Age: | Onset Age: 53 | Symptoms: rectal, gluteal, hip pain | Helped By: hot baths, quercetin, pain meds, sleep | Worsened By: prolonged sitting, anxiety, catastrophic thinking

Re: Quercetin
I could not tolerate any accredited quercetin product either due to stomach upset and I believe it's because it contains magnesium salts
