Suggested reading- Sedona Method

Post by Viking »

Some of you may be familiar with the Sedona Method, but if you are not, I suggest you look into it. It basically teaches a simple process called releasing, meaning to clear your mind of unwanted emotions. I am currently reading the book and find the techniques very helpful.

I tried this out a few years ago and got little, if anything out of it. I may not have given it a real chance to work, but the technique of 'releasing' to me was equal to telling somebody to just forget about it. I'm glad to hear its helping you though, knowing that it is actually helping someone else makes me want to give it another try.

Yeah, I think a lot of people here would benefit from just letting go of bad thoughts. You probably don`t have to read the book to do that, but the fact that you easily can choose which thoughts to hold in you head is powerful. It`s very easy to get caught up in negative thinking when flares occur, but these thoughts can be let go of. When I combine it with meditation / breathing techniques I am able to totally shift focus and that surely is a key in everyone`s recovery process.

Speaking of books, I have also found Eckhart Tolle`s books, especially "The Power of Now", to be quite intriguing. For many of us, stress is a result of our own thoughts and projections into future events. I used to spend a lot of time worrying about future events and played all kinds of scenarios in my mind. By being in the NOW, I am better able to basically not think or worry about the future. Why spend time worrying about something that has not happened, and probably won`t either? His explanation of the human pain-body is also fascinating and holds true on so many levels.

Cheers :)
