This post is first and foremost aimed at people with IC/PBS, but feel free to post if you do not have those symptoms also (I am very convinced I have an inflammation in my bladder). I think it is fairly mild since I do not have too terrible frequency or pain. I can also hold urine (diluted at least) to about 750CC. I am pretty positive I have food sensitivities, and my bladder or that region at least "burn" every day (since my recent flareup 6 weeks or so ago). I do not have horrible pain, but there is some from time to time. I have had this for 5 years now with 2 years being more or less symptom free. The symptoms I have now have never been there before until now which is a real bummer. Now over to some questions that I hope you guys can help with:
Shall I do a cysto? What will it yield? Hydrodistension is not a trustworthy way of Diagnosing IC/PBS from what I have heard.
For you with similar problems, have you found help using the protocol? If so to what degree? I have been helped in the past, but this honestly does not seem to be helped by trigger point therapy...(seen Bill Taylor recently and just came back from seeing Stephanie Prendergast et al in SF for 4 days).
In terms of diet, what do you guys eat? I am trying to avoid wheat, oat, rye etc right now to see if I benefit. I am also sensitive to egg. What do you guys eat in the mornings? I am loosing a lot of weight right now cause I cannot figure out what to eat. I am taking Prelief with all meals, seems to help a little.
I am thinking about trying out some IC meds and supplements. Elavil for a start. Cystoprotek? Bladder Q? Advice here would be useful.
Outcome of IC/PBS? This is impossible to answer I know, but do you guys find help? Can you work? Can you enjoy life? Right now I am pretty sad. I cannot eat or drink much (just drinking water and some milk) and have this burning pain. For the first time in 5 years I have what I would describe as pain, even though it is at a fairly low level.
I sleep all night, most nights without having to pee and for the most I feel good when I wake up. I just hope that last...
Sad
