One exclusion diet is lamb and pears. But you need to get advice on this from an allergist or a book like Food Allergies and Food Intolerance : The Complete Guide to Their Identification and Treatment Jonathan Brostoff MD, Linda Gamlin

I used to have plain chicken or pork chops (nothing on them) and plain white rice. Both have to be plain with no seasonings, flavorings, etc. Break out the grill.
Age: 44 | Symptoms: Pain in pelvis, Post urination drip. Helped by: Squat stretching, PT, Prelief before banned foods, Vit B, Cystoprotec AFTER foods, singulair after foods, Exercise. Makes worse: Stress, Alcohol (1-2 days after), coffee, Artificial sweeteners, chocolate, tonic Wheat/gluten. Drink a lot of water!!! 95% better to date!

Pork is not a good idea on an exclusion diet. You should be eating food you wouldn't normally eat, and pork is a very commonly eaten food and quite allergenic too (for instance, I cannot eat it).

Diet is ultra important when you are dealing with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and definitively can start or prolong a flare.

Our five worst foods
#1: Coffees and Teas
#2: Cranberry & Other Fruit Juices
#3: Carbonated beverages
#4: Tomato Products
#5: Multivitamins (esp Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) and Vitamin B6)
#6: Tobacco
Age: 46 | Onset Age: 45 | Symptoms: "gotta go to the bathroom feeling almost constantly, even after I go." Raw/irritated feeling mainly when sitting down. | Helped By: Following IC diet, Alo Vera caps, Cod Liver Oil, Flax seed oil, very warm baths, stretching, relaxation tapes, Yoga and meditation, | Worsened By: citrus fruits, chilie, old cheeses, coffee, alcohol, stress, anxiety, obsessing on the problem.

Unfortunately, the female IC website recommends an "IC Diet" that would be deadly for me, because it recommends foods like wheat bread. From what I can make out, it simply rehashes all the old advice about avoiding caffeine and acid foods, and completely neglects to mention foods we here know will irritate, like highly spiced food and preservatives like sodium benzoate (E 211).

2018 edit: new IC diet advice is here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8733

What is wrong with #3 and especially #5 (which I find very disturbing!)?

[admin comment in 2014: multivitamins are acidic which is why Quercetin suppliers have created Bladder Smart (does not burn the bladder/prostate area). More here https://ucpps.men ]
Age: 41 Onset Age: 14, 22 got really bad
Symptoms: pain and discomfort perineum, a little bit while sitting in the right half of the scrotum. Sometimes dual stream while urinating. While ejaculating, not all shoots outside, some stays and flows outside with time (Without medication very painful).
Diagnosis: have seen several urologists in my life, have done any possible and pain creating diagnosis could not help me ever. Life was hopeful after googling the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol in early 2008, then every ache started making sense./ Hemorrhoids: they stress my prostate when I have a Hemorrhoid flare!
Helped By: Physical therapy, keeping myself warm, hatha yoga, stretching, walking, relaxation, distraction, Tadalafil 5 mg
Worsened By: Constipation, Fear or OCD "flare up", sitting and not doing any kind of "motion", too much tension in media or life, caffeine and acidy food
Prior Treatments: Antibiotics, Tamsulosin, Lyrica, Gabapentin, Tylenol

I have noticed the major foods that I am intolerant to or flare me up are:

Coffee (but not tea)
Alcohol
Citrus juice and citrus in general
Milk, slightly (but cheese and yogurt are fine)
Flour and wheat

I basically eat a very healthy diet of pure protein and vegetables with very basic carbs made of corn or rice.

It is also important to note that as I have progressively released muscle groups in my rectal cavity and pelvic floor food has begun to bother me less and less and I can diverge into eating things that used to give me a very hard time without as much issue.
Age: 33 | Onset Age: 28
Flare | Symptoms: burning after urination/defecation, post-urinary dribbling, low libido, low arousal, pelvic aches and pains.
Helped By: Physical therapy of the levator ani muscle group, Relaxation, Diet
Worsened By: Eating refined sugar and gluten, coffee, beer, stress

I take a B complex vitamin and I also eat a lot of tomatoes. Could this be causing problems for me and why?
Age: 52 | Onset Age: 52 | Symptoms: fairly constant groin "burning", not really related to urination (it feels better after I do it), some post ejaculation soreness.Helped By: hot baths, relaxation, Xanax | Worsened By: too many orgasms, anything but really gentle sex, driving and other stressful activities. Tried: Multiple antibiotic, although I never went more than 2 weeks on any particular one. Did I need 4 to six weeks on Cipro, for example? Prosta Q, PEENUTS, experimenting with Chinese herbs now. Suggestions are welcomed.

Coffee a no no but Tea actually soothes my pain :agree:
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

I've recently switched to caffeine-free tea and although I haven't noticed a change in my symptoms, I have been feeling more energetic than usual. Alcohol-free beer is going to be a tough one!
Age:40 | Onset Age: Various issues for years, possibly since age 20 | Symptoms: Groin pain, back pain, fatigue, flu-like feeling, pressure somewhere in the butt, feeling of indigestion/heartburn, pain in my abdomen, burning sensation when peeing and excruciating after-pain in pubic bone area | Helped By: Nothing yet | Worsened By: Particularly post-orgasm (several hours after to up to a week) and often arousal, sitting, driving
