Success

Post by GP2 »

Hi all,

Good to speak to you all again. thought I better tell you that life is going great. Job going well, met someone special, and in terms of mental and physical health much better.

I haven't had any significant pain since last September which is great. I had a 2 week flare up in November which I discussed here. I ended that by doing some internal work which | now do once every 2 weeks. I stretch regularly and meditate 2-3 times a week. My outlook on life and my emotional well being is obviously much healthier now too. I appreciate life much more and worry less. I do have occasional setbacks (not pelvic pain) where I get stressed and burned out. But that is bound to happen occasionally. I know now that if I burn the candle both ends and ignore my needs as a sensitive, caring individual I start getting stress symptoms.

The wheat/gluten free diet is still going strong and I continue to find more things I can eat. It really doesn't hinder my life and I feel much better for it! I'm even looking to help others with the problem in my local area through advertising. :-D

As I said in my post of old, I believe this whole health scare was teaching me something and was for a purpose. I can wholeheartedly say that that has proven to be true. I no longer fear chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and I have the tools to beat it. Plus I never went to California and taught myself trigger point treatment! (You can too).

Take care, be strong and keep the faith. When you get through the dark days (in time) you will see that your life has taken on a whole new dimension compared to the ego led, materialistic, spiritually dead, fast paced life of old!! :biggrin(1):

Cheers (especially for Carl d!)

Greg

I'm starting to find a lot of success too and was going to post but I want to give it a little more time. I couldn't agree more with what you said about it changing your outlook about what is important in your life. I was working so much too try and achieve a certain level of financial success but when this hit I swore all I wanted to be healthy again and if I did recovery from this I would never be concerned with that again. Funny thing though I have been feeling good and I noticed I started falling back into my old mentality and was stressing over this property I really wanted. I caught myself and just laughed and just realized how much better I was feeling and how grateful I am to be feeling almost normal again. I have a lot more patience with people and situations I didn't used to have. So YES! it definitely is life changing and wakes you up too what is most important. I too am not afraid of this anymore either and realize I will have setbacks but now I just relax and roll with it. Off for snowboarding trip this weekend for a few days, something I couldn't imagine doing 8 months ago. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting! :-D
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

Posts like this are becoming more and more common I would like to think :agree:

To be able to step in and break a flare must be the most rewarding feeling of all :-|

I'm hoping I'm next with a post like this as pain levels are down 2-3 max and the only flare I had lasted 15 mins max
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

Greg!!!

I have wondered how you were doing.... :-D

What a great encouraging post....A success if I ever read one....Right on my friend.

This post should teach any newbie that joins here that through hard work, relaxation, time, learning self treatment, diet changes, and learning to deal with your inner demons and ego and taking CP/CPPS as a blessing/warning to change your life and really believe in your self. That you will heal and be well again.

If you read any of Greg's posts in the past you will read about a man who was soul searching and in his darkest of times carried on through the ups and downs always had a positive to reflect on. It's no surprise to me that your recovery is continuing and your inspiration will indeed help all of us. By the way, Greg's job is not your everyday kind of job in the office either....The man's out there stopping bad guys... ( are you still doing that? ) Bravo...bravo....bravo...my friend

Regards, Carl... :-D

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I get genuinely emotional when I read threads like this and other success stories - from men who come here at their wits end and they manage to find their lives again. I also find the support given by men spread all over the world to each other truly humbling.

May we all be well.

Richard.
