US Presidential Primaries

Post by kevin »

What are your thoughts on the US Presidential candidates when it comes to issues that affect us, like medical research and healthcare policy? Obama is my overall favorite candidate, and Hillary probably second, but I haven't gotten a chance to examine their policies on medical/scientific research in detail. Of interest is this article in the Huffington Post comparing the different candidates' plans:

What do y'all think?
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.

Can't talk about health in general, but from an outsider's point of view Hilary Clinton seems to be the most qualified candidate to be US President by a mile.
Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

It's time for change though, isn't it? It's all I'm hearing from the media over here.

Ron Paul all the way. It's about time we instituted freedom and choice again in America. Especially in areas as important as health care.

I'd like to see Obama as President and Hillary as V.P.

However, even so, we all know that all politicians are puppets and beholden to the people that put them in office. The entities that really run this country are the multi-nationals. We just like to pretent that our leaders run everything.

No one in their right mind would want Hillary and Bill plotting against them inside their own administration from the vice presidents quarters. Hillary has high negatives and doesn't broaden the appeal of the ticket nationwide. The theme of change would need a break from the past and the soap opera aspect of the Clinton's relationship would be unwelcome also. Look for an Obama Richardson ticket or other western -southern governor or perhaps an outside chance of Wesley Clark.

I don't think whatever outcome affects chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome folks unless he declares a war on CPPS! :-D

I think the outcome of the November election has a big effect on chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome sufferers. Although Obama and Hillary are quite similar, they both differ significantly from McCain on healthcare and science/NIH funding, the latter being crucial in finding a cure for CPPS.

Obama is worth the risk, though we really don't know much about him. He displays great leadership qualities, unlike the others. He'll need to be careful otherwise he'll get the Neville Chamberlain tag. Hillary would be a great mistake. More stalemates, extreme partisanship, and ineffectiveness. Not many really like her anyway, so I don't think it's in the cards for her. McCain's been around for decades, but I still don't know what he really stands for.
