Looking for a PT in NY - northern NJ - northeastern PA area

Post by Hafegeo »

Hello all,

I am soon moving to Port Jervis, NY, and am trying to find a good PT who is skilled in treating chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome / IC / PFD in the area. In NY, that would include Rockland, Orange, even Ulster counties. I can also do northern NJ and the northeastern part of PA (as far as Scranton). I've done some looking, but so far little luck. Any recommendations?

I have been seeing Sara Lewis at Duffy & Bracken in Manhattan. She's very good, and I'd happily stick with her -- but the trip is a bit much.

Many thanks!

I've seen Stacy Futterman at H and D PT in NYC and she was good. I've been going thru a very hard time and cannot afford to go to Stanford, so Dr Wise reccomended Marilyn Freedman who I see Tuesday. She teaches how to do it on ourselves too. She was sooo nice over the phone..

Age 21.. | Symptoms: Extreme discomfort in bladder, and lower abdomen.. To the point that I can't sit still, and sleep, can't do anything.. The only that will help is getting into the bath... Urinary frequency, Urinary hesitancy, sometimes taking a few minutes to get just a little bit out.. Sometimes lower back pain when I lay down at night.. Never have the golf ball feeling everybody talks about, and never have a problem sitting down.. Helps: Hot baths, Xanax (but makes me extremely tired), stretching (it seems like only sometimes), pain killers (ex: Percocet, but if I take them, they end up making me worse the next days following, probably due to the urinary retention they cause).. Makes worse: Stress is the main main thing, caffeine and spicy foods too, but not really a whole whole lot.. only a moderate amount..
