Urination after sex

Post by tom402 »

Does anyone find that if you urinate quite soon after sex it's a little harder to get started than at other times? Hesitation isn't usually one of my problems, except for at that time. I was wondering if this was a natural effect or one of the symptoms related to CPPS/IC.

Transrectal sonography reveals that prostate vascular flow increases dramatically after ejaculation and remains elevated for at least 24 hr.

So increased pain after ejaculation coincides with increased blood flow.

My view is that increased blood flow and pressure exacerbates histamine-induced inflammation by increasing the amount of "leaked", inflammation-inducing material.

The post-ejac. urination difficulties are linked to this.

Could this be a side-effect of Cardura (alpha-bocker)?

I have hesitancy and pain during urination after ejaculation.

No, I don't think so. It's a classic symptom in almost all men with chronic pelvic pain, even those who do not take an alpha blocker.

MS - I have always found it harder to urinate after ejaculation. It is a lot worse with this disease though. I find that alpha-blockers make life a little easier not harder. I have taken Flomax for a few months and am now trying Cardura XL.
