Well guys a diagnosis
Well I have prostititus as he coud see the the prostrate was inflamed and he said definately my problem. I think I agree as I have the symptoms as most guys who visit for same reason. My qestion is what now? What will help and any idea what I can expect. It seems most guys find success getting treated for chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome here but what about prostititus. Is this progressive? Should I look into Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol or is that just for CPPS, I have friend that lives right standford. Worth a visit to better uro or just go with diet, any accredited quercetin product and relaxation???????
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

I also had an inflamed prostate, or "prostatitis", via cystoscopy. See the link to what we call pelvic myoneuropathy in my sig below. An inflamed prostate or bladder or testicle is part of the whole picture for many men.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

As webslave says, read the board and work at it. Unfortunately there is no silver bullet for everybody - although different approaches work well for different people - and it may take considerable time and effort to improve.
In other words, it's really up to you now.

Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

prostrate
Uro said he could see red on both side of prostrate said kind of looked like chapped lips look. I guess red goes with inflammation though. I dont remember if he said there were little bumps in same area or not(valem made me sleepy). Could that be anything else? My uro definately not much help.

I thought Dr Wise said these conditions had little to do with the prostate itself and more to do with muscles ,nerves and stress in the pelvic floor
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

So do you guys think it would help to see PT to work on pelvic muscles or should I try prostrate massage. Just trying to figure where to start.

Gee, this question comes up weekly, mainly because people are not prepared to read, carefully and slowly, the page on pelvic myoneuropathy (see link in my signature below).
The condition is not CAUSED BY the prostate but the nerves involved can and do affect the prostate and/or bladder and/or testes.

prostrate
Ok webslave, so my inflamed prostrate is caused by nerves? I can understand the pelvic region being affected but your telling me that can directly cause the inflammation? Do you think I should take a trip to stanford next year(only about 4hrs away) sometime and what about prostrate massage. I know you heard it all before so your the one to ask. Thanks for the help and patience!

For almost all of us, this condition is caused initially by the brain. There is an unconscious guarding response to a trigger (stress, trauma, previous infection) that sends heightened stimulation to the pelvic nerve plexus. This creates trigger points in the affected muscles and also sets off inflammation of various kinds in the organs right at the end of these nerve branches. This is not something we've dreamed up; it's actually demonstrable in lab animals.
I absolutely think that you should take advantage of your position near Stanford to make use of its resources!

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.
