Another Cipro question, I know....

Post by calguy »

Ok guys I am on third week of antibiotics and I feel much better. No pain anywhere and urination normal. Only had frequency and discomfort in bladder which I now just think was spasms because I took detrol for 3 days and I think that relaxed everything and I feel fine. I know some people said Cipro has antiinflamatory effect and that is why I feel better but when I took a break from Cipro and took Ibuprofin(antiinflamatory) it did not have same effect. Also I feel like I am breaking that fever like feeling to. Is it possible I did have infection somewhere and just didn't show up on blood or urine test. Are there any drugs that will have the same effect as Cipro because I feel fine when on it. If I could just take one pill a day for the rest of my days no problem and could deal with this feeling. I know I can't take antibioitcs forever though.
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

People ask why antibiotics help them even though traditional NSAID drugs don't. The answer is that some antibiotics have different anti-inflammatory effects to NSAIDS.
See this study.

Please come back a month or two after finishing the antibiotics and update us on whether the improvement has continued. Thanks.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I did 3 weeks on Cipro and two weeks on levaquin. Trust me the improvement would of happen anyway. I know that now-I wish I knew it then. "That s##t will screw you up"I stopped it and feel much better. I bought everything those UROs said. I was also really obliged to stay on it since I noticed improvement. Stop it now before you cause yourself problems. I'm on Protonixs now because it tore my stomach up-that didn't start until day 21. If I had to do it again I would of only done 10 days just in case a UTI was present. If you've got 21 days in you're only hurting yourself especially if you have IC as in your earlier post.
