What is your quality of life??

Post by calguy »

Just wondering how everyone is getting along after dealing with there problems. Sounds like most of you are much better. I have good job great girlfriend, hobbies and hope it does ruin either. I am new to this and may be getting ahead of myself but just wondering what I have to look forward too.
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

You may need to make adjustments say not drinking every night and living large, eating like crap and drinking tons of coffee. Or sitting in front of a computer all day playing games and jerking off to hot chicks with big tits. Love those big tits :!:

My attitude is life is to be lived and not endured :!: :!: Sometimes the discomfort can bring me down, but I still enjoy all the things I love to do. Except I charge hard in a relaxed kind of way instead of charging hard in an anxiety/distracted way. :) Also fill in your profile so we know your symptoms and what makes it better or worse.

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

My Quality of LIfe

Post by elitynski »

It's made me more health conscious and persistent about trying to find out what is really happening.

I've lost weight, expanded friendships, and found myself more compassionate towards others.

I still am determined to find out what is going on and learn how to manage what is going on - I just know I have to be patient and try the different things the Dr. wants to try.

Until then....it's day by day!!

When I first had this, I used to drink a lot of booze, too much well, u know, didn't take care of myself, too much stress, no exercise and living on microwave meals.

I then due to this condition, only drank water, was careful what I ate, started going to the gym 3 times a week, and did the u know what a bit less, sometimes not even once during a week, as compared to probably every night, sometimes twice a day. I also started to think positive, read this forum, do the stretches in the hitp book and I did feel better.

The past month, I have let myself slide again, mainly as I am going through a horrible relationship breakup, am in a job I hate, and generally just feeling very low. So I've been drinking wine and/or beer every night, not doing as much exercise, not feeling positive and being very upset.

The result - this week for the first time ever, the urinary symptoms have come back very bad, and I am having pain now in places I have never had before, which is scary, and its a horrible sort of pain, which I dont want to get worse. I started doing the stretches again last night, trying to relax, went for a swim, and a not drinking booze again.

This thing is definately linked to my moods. I am noticing the link so much now. It makes you change your quality and way of life by making you realise that things are not right - something brings this thing on, stress, too much nookie, anxiety, an injury etc.... and our body is saying to us, hey, I'm not right, you got to take it easy for a while, listen to me and do something about it.

My concern is obviously now that the pain does not get worse, I'm still refusing painkillers so I dont lower my pain level, everytime I feel the pain, I say to myself that I am accepting its my body talking to me. When I am less stressed, or back in a comfortable place (i.e. bed) the pain goes. From listening to others who have got over this thing, you won't be able to have the (possibly) wild and reckless quality of life you had before, but you will have a quality of life, all be it by drinking water instead of beer, having less nookie, going out for walks, exercise, and learning how to relax yourself and not get stressed so often.

Granted, its all easier said than done, as I am currently finding out....

Gary,

Isn't it great to know that you have empowerment over this stress disorder and if you take care of your self you will slowly get better.

For me no booze, caffine or spicey foods. Have sex on average for me 2 times a week with my Wife and or visit my free big tit website and say hello to my busty babes  I think laughter is a huge factor for getting well so don't forget that as you go through this change in your life.

Have you tried any accredited quercetin product :?:

Consider NSAID's like Aleve (naproxen) as needed and maybe consider low dosage Elavil 10 mg to help calm the pelvic nerves and quiet the anxiety and frequency. This is very helpful to me. ask your doctor about it when you can.

I think you are on the right path with your awareness of what effects your symptoms.

Peace, Carl..

Hi Carl

I've just ordered the free trial of Quercetin. I'm at the moment reluctant to try drugs as I'm not one who likes popping tablets. "If" things get REALLY bad then yes I will give in and try them. For now, I will see if the any accredited quercetin product helps, but thanks for all your advice as I know in the past you have suggested these to me.

Cheers

I enjoy life....

I'm opposite of the guys that posted above. I didn't drink much, I was very strict on my diet, I went to the gym 5 x per week, competed in bodybuilding shows and was probably borderline OCD in terms of all that stuff, very uptight about it. I would rarely let go and truly enjoy myself, I was also handling the stresses of law school and finding a job. I never realized it, but I definitely charged through life on full throttle, stomach sucked in, anxious hell at every stop. I was always fast walking somewhere or driving ninety miles a minute to my next place. Just always tense.

So, for me I had to unwind a bit in the other direction. Enjoyed friends more, got into a healthy relationship with my now wife, drank a little bit, eased up the diet.

So I found balance that way.

I guess my point is, assess yourself, we are all different, you probably are one or the other, but either way very uptight, anxious and fast moving. Find that balance.....then enjoy life.

This thing will take time, but I enjoy life much more than I did 4 years ago when this thing hit me full speed ahead.

Good Luck,

Ss

My quality of life is better now because this thing has hugely changed my approach to life. I appreciate more and rush less, chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome forced me to go to a psychologist to sort out some major emotional issues, it forced me off wheat and gluten which has made me feel so much better in so many ways, it forced me to be less self critical and driven and instead more relaxed and philosophical about life, and it forced me to be healthier and rest and take care of my body more
Age: 29 | Onset Age: 26 | Symptoms: initially severe burning throughout pelvis - much better; muscles spasms all over region, back pain, chronic IBS (much better) | Helped By: Psychotherapy, SP stretches, swimming, accepting the condition (understanding there is treatment); stress/anxiety management; possibly basic quercetin; valerian root, vit B & calc & magn supplements; gluten avoidance & especially dealing with chronic constipation. | Worsened By: stress / anxiety, too much sex; repressed emotions; personality goodist traits. 80% better
