I wanted to share a bit of news. On Tuesday, my PT was working my exterior muscles concentrating on my hamstring area and moving up toward the sit-bones (the adductor magnus). She got almost to the top near the sit-bones on one stroke and zowie! I got a flair up the rectum. That was a first. She came back and hit the general area again but we couldn't reproduce the flair. When I got home I looked it up in the HITP book as well as my copy of Dr. Travell's tome on TPs. Both mentioned that the adductor magnus muscle can refer pain up into the pelvis, rectum, urethra, etc. It felt a bit similiar to prior attacks of Proctalgia Fugax that I've had for years.
We're going to hit that area again, and I'm experimenting with my Theracane. But I wanted to pass this on to others in case you have similiar issues.
note: not medical advice, just my experience.
