Struggling...
After another weekend of weight-lifting I'm convinced my problem is not bacterial in nature. The results are not back yet but I'm pretty much convinced they'll be negative. I'll find out tonight for sure. As much as it pains me emotionally to have to give up weight-lifting the alternative is just not possible. Part of this is my problem for not having saved up more money, not taking the stretches seriously, and not even attempting the relaxation. I've spent the last 7 hours trying to go to sleep (i've been up for 20). My anxiety levels are through the roof due to real life stresses, dating is not even an option. If I wasn't strong-willed or had easy access to a gun I might not be alive right now. It's just so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have an appointment this Wednesday, this new Urologist says he's heard of the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol. Hopefully he'll know of some PT's or at least prescribe me something so I can sleep or have some relief.

I just ordered the Yoga Nidra CD, Awakened Mind CDs, and Trigger Point workbook. I'm cancelling my gym membership and gonna start looking for a place to do yoga. I'm also making plans to go to Stanford in 3-4 months when I've saved up the cash. I'm going to make sure I focus on doing this before anything else. Quitting is simply not an option.

Right on A, you are going to do it. The funny thing is the hard working type A personality men seem to be more prone to this. Ironically, it's that same type of personality that can help you fight this as well. That's the irony behind this condition. You will improve for sure, but it takes time and lots of work.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

A word of wisdom here, you have to live with what you have. Let's face it, it's the thought about giving up "weight-lifting" that's more bothersome than the act itself.
From the book, "Everyday Zen", your outlook will improve once you give up hope, yes, you heard that right. Giving up hope doesn't mean you stopping the effort to get better. It means you take a look at your condition and be in complete peace with it.
PS. I'm just returning to riding bike and light lifting again.
