Howdy all
I wanted to get the boards feedback on something I've been encountering lately. Do any of find that wearing certain pants cause minor flareups or discomfort. I recently bought some new slacks for work, I tried them on and wore them extensively at the store and thought they fit fine. Today wearing them officially for the first time I have had the first major flareup that I've had for a few months. I am having a major problem finding slacks that are cut properly that don't put pressure on the perineum. I was curious if anyone else has found the same issue, and if there were any makes or cuts to look for. I'm thinking I might need to go to an upscale place with a tailor.

When I was at my worst I gave up briefs for boxers and spent a lot of time in sweat pants. I'm doing better now and jean are Ok again. It makes a difference what I wear sometimes.
I am not a doctor too!

I have some pants that bother me, but when I analyzed it further, I realized that they are all pants that I wear in stressful situations such as dates, job interviews, speaking in public, etc. That's where I think the connection is for me.

sam5935 brings up a interesting point. I had wrongfully thought a medication I was taking was working, but it was actually a change in stressful conditions coincidentally. It took a couple of years to figure out for sure what that was (standing for hours at work). I always wore loose pants and think if you feel anything on your perineum you should probably go a size up. Seriously though, if it is causing a problem I could only think it is cause it is reminding you of your condition when you feel something down there.
Age: 26 | Onset Age: 20 | Symptoms: Used to be pain around the base of the penis, now I have golf ball in rectum feeling that can be very painful. | Helped By: kegal exercise/biofeedback (fixed ejaculation pain), antiinflamatory drugs, warm baths (intermediate term relief), hamstring stretching (very short term relief), the biggest being stress management | Worsened By: Stress, Standing for long periods, ejaculating used to make it worse, but not anymore

I definitely notice my symptoms are much worse when wearing one pair of pants that I got at Old Navy. They don't seem to fit any differently than my other jeans, but I did notice that when I wear that pair more often than others (or if I have forgotten to do laundry, a couple days in a row), my symptoms are worse.
So I'd have to say it's at the very least a contributing factor, even though they don't seem to fit any differently.

Age: 38 | Onset Age: 38 | Symptoms: urgency, perenial pain, sharp feeling of obstruction at base of urethra on occasion (am trying to resist urge to "test" this pain via Kegel contraction). Am 98% symptom free, with occasional minor flare ups. Helped By (currently treating with): Aleve (naproxen), Magnesium, Omega-3, Prosta-Q, daily pressure on external trigger points in groin, stretching, Klonopin helps but trying not to use it. | Worsened By: horrible seat at work, anxiety, Subway sandwiches?, constipation, other unknown factors...

The best pants I have found is the 80's high waist pants, I get them with the legs 3-4" short. I wear them at my normal waist level with the crotch 3-4" low and loose fitting boxer briefs and the boys say thank you by not giving any screaming pain.
I HAVE NO MEDICAL TRAINING JUST CPPS
