Hello all, this is my first post and it's a bit long winded because I would like to explain my case;
3 Years ago I was admitted to hospital with terrible pain which at first looked life a massive infection, although once tested I had no signs of unwanted bacteria, at the time the Urologist discovered a fairly large cyst in the prostate and decided this was probably the cause. After a few days on antibiotics and anti-inflam drugs I got better.
Since then I had on and off minor problems which never resulted in much but then in the last year things took a step for the worse.
At first the Urologist again put me on antibiotics (this time for 3 months) and they did nothing. I changed Urologist several times and eventually found out that NSAID's seemed to help me. My new Urologist decided to take out the cysts in my prostate, after 2 operations it was finally removed but I remained exactly the same.
I then stumbled through seeing other Urologists, Psychologists, Rheumatologists and Neurologists all to no avail, although each one in turn tried a course of some medicine or another.
I eventually decided to phone David Wise and have a chat about going to Sebastapol (I'm in Spain, its a long way). He was very supportive and I still feel I might be making the visit, but in the mean time I searched for a good PT here where I live. And I believe I have found one.
I started PT last week and she instantly noticed all my external pelvic floor muscles / tendons to be damaged. She searched for the cause and found that my left knee is damaged, this is something I have had for at least 20 years but never thought much about.
She is under the opinion that all my problems come from my body compensating for the bad knee.
So far the PT has had little effect although I've only had 2 sessions, I have flare ups regularly every 2 weeks, when I have them I take Ibuprofen or Indomethacin and after about 4 days of meds the pain goes away and I'm left with the perineum pain only.
Has anybody else heard of the problems being caused by other injuries in this way.

I would think so. Unnatural holding patterns and tension can cause other areas to be in a constant unnatural state. You unfortunately, had a holding pattern that caused pelvic pain. Would be no different from those that have back issues and suffer incredible migraines, etc and so forth.
Good Luck,
