Hi, first time post but have been following the forums on and off over the last few years. I live in a small city near Sydney and was wondering if any Australian sufferers had any success in finding a PT in Sydney area for trigger points internally?
I know most would suggest flying to Stanford but cost are considerable and I have emailed David Wise as well. This has got me thinking if it was possible to get a group of Aussie sufferers to pool our money together and fly out David Wise and a Physio to conduct a workshop here in Australia. Benefits for us would be lower cost and not having to sit for the 19 hours flight And David and the Physio can have a holiday after the workshop seeing our great southern land.
Have no idea how we could set this up but if others are interested maybe we could hatch a plan.
I'm in Melbourne and have been referred to ;
Womens & Mens Physio' Incorporating Pelvic floor rehab, Malvern, Vic. (03) 9822 4438
Hope this helps
Cheers,
BSB
AGE: 40. | Symptoms: Constant rectal pain post sphinterectomy 2003. Levator syndrome - 20 year's plus of severe muscle tension & spasms -trigger's unknown. Painful lower back, right hip, soles/arch of feet, chronic fatigue. Urethral & right testicle pain/tension. Urination urgency (30 + times p/day) - full stream. Enlarged prostate. Unable to sit more than 15 mins. Rectal burning/pain after BM, golf ball in the rectum sensation. proctalgia fugax - the worst part ! I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Helped by ? Still searching for the answer, like the rest of us !
No I haven't started treatment yet, but I'm close to it. Travel & cost aside, I dont want to live with this Sh*t anymore & get on with life ! I figure, we all get to a stage early on where we can only do so much ourselves & then look for help to take our treatment further.
Meantime, can I suggest you ring the colorectal centre up your way, as they state, "Management of disorders" on there web site.
All the best with it.
Cheers,
BSB

Age:29 | Onset Age:24 Correct diagnosis Age: 27.5 | Symptoms: pain, burning in genital region | Helped By: Initial cystoscopy procedure which removed stricture and bladder carcinoma 30% better, less stress, getting better gradually | Worsened By: Feeling out of comfort zone/control, stress.
Welcome mate. You've come to the right place for help & support.
Like most of us here, I started with A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS which gave me the understanding of what's going on & a sense of direction to treatment. If, you dont have a copy, I would really recommend you get it.
I'm actually booked in for my first session next month and was happy to hear that the clinic is now familiar with A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS after I put them onto it about a year ago. We dont have the same clinical resources as our friends in the UK & US, but I think we're on the way
Visit often, and mate, look into ways to help with your stress / anxiety as most of us here would agree that its a major contributer to our condition.
All the best.
Cheers.
