Maybe some of you can help me

Post by scoobysnacks »

As my pelvic floor is really starting to open up I am having a problem with remembering how to pee properly.

I mean its been four years, and I dont quite remember as it was never something I focused on.

Now, is I apply a little pressure I can pee "normal" meaning no spasms. If I sit there completely with applying no pressure usually some urine comes out, but then I hiccup, and then the muscles feel like they engage or start to push and I begin to go normal again.

I guess my issue is did we always push a little bit. Is some slight pressure to urinate normal. Or did we simply hang it over the toilet and let it "fall" out of us?

If any of you that dont have the spams upon peeing issue or dribbling urine could shed some light on this Id be most grateful.

My fear is that if a little pressure isn't normal I could do more damage by applying a little pressure.

I'm not bearing down at all, just trying to focus on my penis and push a little bit. For so long I've focused on my ass, that sometimes it feels like the muscles are preparing to shit, and we both know you can shit and piss at the same time, so of course something will spasm and stop you from going until your body picks one or the other.

Any advice on a normal piss would be great.

Thanks,

Ss

This is not something I thought id ever be asked

I have really never had problems peeing and can go hours without needing the toilet. More so than my non-CPPS friends in fact!

I do push a little initially and then the flow looks after itself if that makes sense. I dont have to tighten the muscles and hold them to pee - it does seem to work naturally.

I wouldnt be afraid of pushing a lttle to start with. Have you done a google search on "how to urinate correctly" or something similar? Sounds crazy but I bet you'll find some info

But make sure with other guys here because I may be wrong & wouldnt mind knowing myself Scoobs..

Thanks Greg, and its not something I thought Id ever ask, course I never thought Id have to stick my own finger up my ass and massage internal muscles, or go to California and have another man stick his finger up my ass. But, hey, there is a first for everything when you are in pain.

Regards,

According to my Urologist, because I once asked him about something similar to this. There should be no force in urination, it should just come out when you are ready and relaxed. He even said that we should not push the remaining out that's in the urethra, that it will come out on the next passing . I don't agree with that. Instead of using the muscles to get the rest out, that everyone does, you can gently press the perineum to get the rest out, so you don't irritate the urethra. That works for me.

Ss, something you may want to try next time you pee, because I think this could be common with Men and that's the sometimes slight hic up you get as the urine is going through the urethra. almost like those shivers we sometimes get. Before I pee, I slightly bend my knees and not lock them up like Men do when they pee. It relaxes you, kinda like they say don't lock your knees when you are standing at the alter to get married so you don't pass out. Not at all sure why this works for me, but I don't really get that hic up when I unlock my knees before I pee. Try it Bro, I think it might help you cause you can't always sit at a toilet to piss. I'm not a Doctor.

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I know mate. It sucks sometimes doesnt it?

I looked on the net didn't find much. Carl obviously has some good answeres for you. I wonder if you ever had a bashful bladder before your CPPS develpoed? A psychological component maybe also? I know you were a big weightlifter so thats probably your biggest factor.

I'll keep a track of my peeing & let you know if I come up with anything buddy

Come to think of it I have had bouts of urination problems over the years when stressed. DEEP BREATHING always helped as I urinated.

Questions for you:

1) When you 'force it' is it a constant force or do you just do enough to kick things off?
2) When you don't force it, how strong is your flow?

It could be that after 4 years you need to re-educate your urinary sphincter.

really just enough to start things off, then its good, and its gently pressure.

2) When you don't force it, how strong is your flow?

Not super strong, unless I have held it for hours, which I can do with no problem.

Yeah, thats why I'm asking, I feel like the muscles are fairly loose, still inflamed from all the PT, but loose, but that I dont quite remember properly how to urinate

I do remember that when I used to go I thought that I completely relaxed at first, then when things got going I would apply a small amount of pressure, thats what I remember anyways.

I had slight bashful bladder when I was in a bar and say only two urinals and people waiting in line and there was no door and tons of commotion, but I asked a buddy and he said in that case it was fairly normal.

If I was at a urinal with that was fairly spaced say at a stadium I never had any real issues.

My main cause, holding the stomach up really tight and way overtraining with weights, then factor in stress from law school and dieting for shows, My body was highly stressed for about four years. I just didn't recognize it at all.

If it were me I would take whichever route is most comfortable. If you're not exerting serious pressure to get the flow started, have a good stream and experience no other effects I would of with the former as it may be the case that you need to teach your urinary sphincter how to relax and this will come with time.

I just try to relax and let it come out whichever way it wants to. Sometimes my stream is better than others, but overall the stream and volume are very gradually improving. I figure that, since having all of the TP's treated, there is a lot of 're-wiring' going on down there, and it will sort itself out in time.

Don't know if that helps you any!
This is not Medical advice - Consult your Doctor!

Age:39. Age at onset:31. Symptoms prior to treatment: Golf ball in rectum, severe urinary frequency (2-3x/hr; 5-10x/night); weak stream; painful ejaculation; coccygeal pain; tip of penis pain; general pelvic pain on left; testicular pain; supra-pubic pain. Current | Symptoms: Urinary frequency 1x every 2-3 hrs and 1-2 x a night; mild pelvic pain on left hand side (all symptoms still improving!)
Helped by: Trigger point release; avoiding exercise; pelvic floor relaxation; Neurontin decreased bladder sensitivity somewhat. Worsened by: Exercise; frequent ejaculation; ibuprofen irritates bladder. Made no difference: Diet; biofeedback; quercetin; Steroid anti-inflammatories; Elavil.

****UPDATE*** I am now able to sit again at work all day, and can perform moderate aerobic exersise again for the first time in 8 years!!!

For me it is simply a release, not a push of any kind. At the end, I do contract to let the last amounts out, and I have found that gently pushing the perineum accomplishes the same thing.
Age: 32 | Symptoms: Twingy pain/muscle spasms in groin area (gone), tingling sensation at tip of penis (has resolved as of now), urinary frequency (resolved as of now), thicker/decreased amount of semen (resolved as of now). Makes better: Stretching, Relaxing pelvic muscles, moment to moment relaxation, not sitting with legs crossed, Elavil, quercetin. Makes worse: Sitting, stress, more than one orgasm/day, constipation, manual labour

Okay so it seems I should not be exerting any pressure, or very minimum. I will just relax and let what happens happen.

I've been increasing my internal work after doing it once per week, which seemed to allow some Trps in my levators to get soar again or active.

So with the increased PT came worse symptoms, so I just wanted to visit this topic.

I appreciate those that shared.
