Hello Everybody,

I am a new member of this forum. I have spent some time reading through all the posts and it seems that I have the same symptoms as many of you:

Pelvic pain made worse by stress, orgasm.
Constant need to urinate.
Negative urologist tests, prescribed antibiotics nevertheless, which had no noticable effect.

I bought AHIP and having read it I am in no doubt that my problem is muscular. I would like to follow the process outlined in the book but unfortunately I cannot afford to pay for PT at this moment in time. For this reason I have a few questions.

1. Are the stretches in the book easy to do or could it be dangerous to attempt them without being shown how to do them by an expert?

2. Is it possible to perform external and internal massage on myself without having been shown how to do it?

3. Is there any other advice for somebody in my position, i.e. flat broke at the moment?

Thanking you all in advance for any advice you might have.

Celestine,

Anyone can stretch. Did you ever play a sport, do the same thing. Simply stretch, dont over stretch, and you will be fine. You dont have to be shown stretches, though while at the SP I was shocked to see how many people had never really done stretching in there lives. I grew up stretching with sports, just assumed so did everyone else. That may be a bit nieve of me, and if you need help with a specific one Ill try to explain on here.

As for Trps release. I believe you can do both on your own. Though, as for internal, I think you need to see how someone does it first before attempting on yourself. For external, get the Claire Davies Trigger Point workbook and a Theracane, and you can do external work on yourself. Do a search for some of my posts I have explained in detail how to do Trps externally, and internally for that matter, but I still think it wise to consult with a PT before trying on your own.

Regards,
Ss
