varicose veins, thrombosis, cause of post-ejac. penile pain?
I read a recent post on here which tangentially discussed varicose veins and thrombosis, I realized that my worst pain after ejaculation (or extended arousal) which I associated with CPPS, seems to be of the sort of deep aching/heaviness/bruised soreness that is often associated with varicose veins/thrombosis- I have often noticed that during arousal/after ejaculation I have an incredibly pronounced and very red/purple Dorsal vein (the main vein on the top of the penis). While the pain is helped with heat and muscle relaxants, it is also sometimes helped by simply sort of gentle massaging, which would seem to be consistent with treatment for a varicose vein. I have no doubt that I have CPPS, but for the most part I have been able to allievate my muscle pains with stretching and the SP, but this penile pain has never really subsided, so I'm wondering if it could be a varicose vein problem in conjunction with CPPS. Does anyone else have these symptoms/researched this possibility? I plan on making an appointment with my urologist and discussing this. thanks
Age:22 | Onset Age:16.5 | Symptoms: Pain with extended sitting, Pain shortly folllowing urination, mostly above pubic bone, Pain after defecation mostly around external sphincter, Pain after ejaculation mostly in Urethra | Helped By: Progressive and Moment to Moment Relaxation, Stretching, Bed Rest (laying down and relaxing muscles), Hot Baths, Hot Showers, | Worsened By: Alcohol (variably), Ejaculation, Urination, Defecation, Stress, Extended Sitting, Sleeping in the wrong position, tensing my muscles while writing or doing anything else stressful/intense, Progress: 65%, basically only dealing with post-ejaculatory pain, onset after about an hour, peaks for 3-6 hours and then remains sore for a day.

I used to think I had pelvic congestion (varicose veins in the pelvis). Got an MRI, which revealed nothing, even though I had the same kind of aching/heaviness after sex. Maybe you'll be different; I didn't have any observable swelling, so that might be it.
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.
