How to lengthen pelvic muscles?
I wanted to see if anyone could give me some suggestions on stretching the internal pelvic muscles. I have had treatments before, but since I wasn't actually doing the stretching I'm not sure what I should be doing ( also its been a while). I have stuck my finger up there before and tried holding it a little to each side, but I didn't do anything with much effort from fear of hurting anything. I was told I had tight pelvic muscles but no TPs were found so I want to start lengthening these short muscles and wanted to get some pointers. Thanks

Garys,
I doubt even the fella with the strongest, longest finger could have a deft enough touch to do what you are asking. The SP folks talk about a "wand" in AHIP that they suggest for some of their clients. I've never seen one, but from what I understand it probably is along the lines of what one might find at an, ahem, adult store.
You probably won't be able to do much internal work on yourself, and might actually hurt yourself from trying to do so. Either find a local person trained in the method, or make your way out to California, meet Tim Sawyer, have him teach your spouse and allow her to do it. My wife learned from him, and helps me in that fashion. You really cannot do it to yourself.

Also, I suggest Davies' excellent book on the subject of Myofasical Pain and Trigger Point Therapies. I just started reading it tonight. Look around the forum here to find out where to get it, I got mine from Amazon.com, I think.

Re: Internal
That simply is untrue. I met Tim this past week, all my TPs are located midline and back towards the tailbone. My wife was there, but he said unless you want her to do this, you can hit all these yourself. And I made it a point to do so the night before the last meeting to make sure I could. They were still so sore I couldn't miss them, and it wasn't a struggle.texas2006 wrote:Garys,

Now if you have some way up past the prostate then this might be true. But to bluntly state you can't do this on yourself is incorrect, and wrong thinking. The SP is geared towards self treatment.
Ill follow up more later, I've already been hitting threads too much, tons to do.
