Can anyone tell me where I can go about seeing a good PT that will do this muscle work on me or any help regarding this condition?
I live on the upper east side of manhattan.

Age:37 | Onset Age: 35 | Symptoms: pain in testicles that comes and goes that also switches sides-trying to find a pattern as to "why" this happens/Rectal Burn at the 6 O'clock position at my anus which tends to flare around the periphery of my anus typically after defication but no perineum pain-no "golf ball" pain. Pain in testicles worsens as I sit but not always...Pain is not always present but depresses me. Pain used to be at a very high level but has subsided in time to a low level but has not gone away. Pain used to flare after sex but not as much as before although it still like playing russian roulette./
/Lack of SleepHelped By: I haven't found anything that has helped to my knowledge. Tried many many sessions of PT, accupuncture and chiropractic care but still have not found steady relief that takes me back to a pre CPPS state.

A search here on New York came up with several threads.
I am not a doctor too!

you could go to see Yoav Suprun at EMH physical therapy on 3rd avenue between 75th and 76th. He is trained in the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol and has learned directly from Tim Sawyer. I have had good success with him.
Age: 39 | Onset Age: 32 | Symptoms: urethral burning, increased urge to urinate, pain after sex, rectal fullness, now much better 6 years into Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol | Helped By: PT(trigger point therapy), paradoxical relaxation, valium, hot bath, stretching, Theracane | Worsened By:too vigorous sex, skipping stretches and daily relaxation

I saw Yoav. He is a compassionate guy who seemed to have an innate understanding of how psych effects this problem, way before I was willing to entertain the idea. He uses electrostim well, had me lie on my stomach with the electrostim and relax, and that basically became the core foundation of my relaxation technique. Its worth a shot, in my opinion.
PT in NYC is expensive, though, so check out your insurance coverage. I paid for a few months without insurance, and then he showed my wife how to do what he was doing so that we continue at home as needed.

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

Hey Robert, that's when I was going there. At the time, I was just mostly scared and not sure of what to think. But in the long run, I got a good amount of knowledge on what to do.
Rufus, its not easy to decide what to do in this case. If your insurance covers it and you can afford the co-pay, I say try it. If not, we should talk about it some more.
