My pain doc, who has helped greatly me to function normally and maintain full-time empoyment, believes that within 10 years or so, endocrinologists will be the main experts treating chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and similar maladies. He states that with many pain patients, interesting findings are being made concerning hormones; he cites as an example a surgeon who was forced into retirement by fibromyalgia; upon finding low testosterone, the guy was subsequently treated and cured. This seems to be consistent with recent findings referenced at this site concerning CRH, NGF cytokines, mast cell secretions, and so on. Thoughts? JP
