Hey Kevin814

yes, if I press on the perineum area or on my penis, I can get a couple more drops of urine to come out. Which test do you recommend and what do you think is causing this?

Also, I saw from your profile that you have urgency, frequency too. What have you tried in the past, what works for you? Do you think that you have IC? Are you affected by diet?

Thanks

you are probably just causing an involuntary contraction of the muscles around the bladder neck by pressing on them and they are squeezing a little extra urine out, this probably isn't a symptom of CPPS, lots of 'normal' men squeeze or shake to expel the last drops of urine. Obviously, I am not a doctor, though. Also if you are trying to contact a member privately, use the private message (PM) function.

A couple of drops is normal. I think your best bet is to (1) get your pelvic floor checked out by a PT, and (2) find a urologist who specializes in voiding dysfunction/incontinence. There are a bunch of tests that can be tried out, but there are so many variables that this kind of thing is best decided by a doctor who can take a look at you. It might just be a matter of assessing how well you can contract your external urinary sphincter (PT experts: can a PT do this on men?).

What helps me is Sudafed and Cymbalta (but as far as I can tell I am a rare case), but you probably shouldn't try those if you have hesitancy. I'll get back to you on this.

Got my cytoscopy tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have some news.

Sounds good. My hunch is that this is a functional thing, and not due to an anatomical obstruction, so a cysto probably won't find anything. But it is important to rule out before moving on to fancier tests like videourodynamics.

By the way, that appointment was quick!
