Hi guys,
Been dealing with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome now for 3 months almost. My major problem is dribbling. I occasionally have hesitancy. And sometimes have an intermittent or split-stream.
I only seem to get frequency when I eat or drink something, like beer.
Here is my question--is dribbling a symptom of IC? My prostate is normal, I've had TRUS and DRE. So, I am at a loss.

Hi save_me,
The best thing for you to do would be to see your doctor and discuss urodynamics and/or cystoscopy. In addition, perhaps a physical therapist can gauge the strength/tightness of your external urinary sphincter. The symptoms you're describing can have anatomical, muscular, and other causes, originating in the bladder, the pelvic floor, or elsewhere.
Dribbling is not a hallmark symptom of IC, but you will see a decent number of patients with IC who have the same problem.

Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.
