pelvic organ prolapse

Post by scoobysnacks »

can this eventually happen in men.

I ask becuase when I stretch and do yoga I make sure I take in very deep breaths and try to push down with my pelvic floor, which is what it has to do in order for normal urination.

These days it responds by dropping or bowling, but I wonder if this will cause trauma in the future. I mean before ever getting this I would take a deep breath and never think of trying to feel it in the pelvic floor to force it downward.

Although this seems to help loosen it, I want to make sure I'm not causing problems in the future.

any thoughts on this

80-90% of rectal prolapses occur in women, but it can happen in men. Why, nobody knows, although excessive straining during constipation is blamed by some. I'd guess that if you have it in your family, avoid constipation, straining and keep the weight down. Also, use squatting to defecate.

I don't think your exercises count, because unless you are specifically straining to open the bowels, direct force is not applied to the lowest part of the rectum. But once again, with a family history, if you have one, best avoid that exercise.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
