Low back pain/ flexing the buttocks when standing.

Post by sam5935 »

How common is low back pain as a main symptom? That's really what's bothering me the most now. My other symptoms have steadily gotten better and are pretty manageable right now. When my back hurts, stretching helps tremendously. The low back pain started months after the other symptoms. I'm almost wondering if the back pain isn't actually secondary to the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and is due to standing/sitting differently to compensate for other symptoms.

One thing I notice is that my default standing position is with my pelvis tilted and my buttocks clenched really hard. I don't know if it's always been like this and I didn't notice or what. It's really strange though. I'll be standing there and realize that I've been totally flexing my buttocks for like half an hour. Even when I do notice it, it's hard to stop and it they just go back to being flexed as soon as I stop thinking about it.

Any thoughts are most welcome. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks everyone!!

Yeah, I honestly don't know if I've always been like this or if it started after my other symptoms. I just know that at any given time, some part of my upper pelvis is usually completely flexed. I have to remind myself all the time to relax that area. I don't know if that's causing my symptoms or not as it seems like not many on here are having this experience.

Trigger points on the glutes and piriformis can refer as lower back pain.
