Uro said the bladder US came back good but my uroflow was weak. He said the Uroxatral may help the Cipro work better since my pain seemed a little better. I explained to him the effect Cipro can have on the pain and that I wasn't convinced this was bacterial. He said I would take the Uroxatral for 2 weeks along with the Cipro and If I dont improve then I will need a cystoscopy to rule out a stricture which I had 5 years ago.
I was so hoping this was a little flare up and here we are 2 months later.
I was put on Uroxatral and more Cipro today

Patients like you, with histories of strictures and non-bacterial prostatitis, are often given antibiotics because uros know that you expect it and are disappointed when you don't get it. If you go to the uro and use the words "infection" and "antibiotic" during the visit, you are subtly priming him to treat you with antimicrobials.
In my own life I have found doctors to be astonishingly manipulable. I often go in and ask for the medicine I want, and get it! We all need to take responsibility for the treatment we get, to a certain extent.

Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
