To treat prostatitis, I am taking an antibiotic, saw palmetto, the broccoli program and a daily multi-vitamin everyday. Is this overkill? Should I limit my treatment to one cure at a time?
Thanks.

Definitely. Why the antibiotic? Why the saw palmetto? Why the broccoli? I would try one thing at a time.Marc wrote:To treat prostatitis, I am taking an antibiotic, saw palmetto, the broccoli program and a daily multi-vitamin everyday. Is this overkill? Hi Marc
I currenyly( out of desparation) am taking antibiotic, mega-vitamins, Quercetin and broccoli and it's working well(90% better) even though 1 at a time gave only a little relief. I agree that as a general rule you shouldn't do this but as I said I was desparate. I go off the antibiotic after 6 weeks of treatment this Saturday and we'll see. See my post under success stories for more details- title: working for me. I will say I have had this disease for 4 of the last 6 years and have never had a response work this quickly or well.

There are theoretical concerns that bioflavonoids like quercetin may interact with quinolone antibiotics (Cipro, Levaquin, Floxin, Tequin etc) making the antibiotic less able to bind to bacteria. There are also studies suggesting that quercetin may increase the absorption of cephalosporin antibiotics (Keflex, Suprax, Cedax etc) from the gut.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
