Hi all,
CPPS drove me back to my home country. I found the courage to tell this to my fiancée. She and her family are now super tensed. It will just be a matter of time before we break up. Everyone of my friends and relatives know about my condition and I keep getting this weird glances. The social stigma that goes with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome really sucks. Sorry for venting out my depression. I just had to. My family and this forum are the only support I have. Fortunately, I still have my job, which keeps me busy for most of the day. Having the comfort of working from home is really helpful.
Update on my symptoms:
* Urinary frequency is under control from 2 months.
* Urinary Urgency (now and then). If I ignore the urgency, the pain will build up and cause a significant flare-up.
* Sitting on hard surfaces/Sitting down for long time causes pain in my buttons and lower back.
* I feel a lot tightness near my abdomen. As if my skin is not enough to cover the abdomen area. I don't want to massage or work on my abdomen (because I fear injuring myself).
* My main problem is with post ejaculatory pain. The pain starts building up 30 mins after I ejaculate. The last time I ejaculated, the pain remained and tormented me for 2 days. Sitz baths which usually help didn't help either. I hope I don't develop a phobia to ejaculate. This condition is quite depressing because I get the erections, but I know that the consequences if I go ahead.
Question 1: What are things people do during a flare-up? Anything that will reduce the pain or reduce the time of suffering?
Question 2: Any abdomen exercises/stretches that you would recommend (other than the cobra stretch)?
I have resolved that I will not take any pain killers unless the pain is excruciating. I have avoided taking pain killers for more than a month now.
In my country, I can't find a therapist who would perform trigger point therapy (internal or external). I continue doing the stretches with minimal benefit. I am sure stretching will have some long term benefits. I believe that stretching/therapy would just loosen muscles. May be it should be complemented with some strengthening exercises too.
Question 3: Any butt strengthening exercises you would suggest?
Thanks a lot for reading. Sorry for a lengthy post! :)
Peace!
Joe.

In reference to points 1 and 2:

This is my best stretch. It caused a flare initially, that is how I know it worked.
Get a Theracane if you cannot find a therapist and try yourself. I used to use a broom handle as well. You cannot be afraid of these ab areas, since they need to be worked out to free up. This is where many of our problems are focused.
In reference to your fear tension, relax. Its a simple muscle condition that can be worked out with time, stretching, etc.

Be more specific on your ejaculatory pain. Where is it based? Perineum?
As far as abdomen goes, this area has been CRUCIAL for me. I do cobra stretches every day, including modified cobras where is have one elbow on the ground. I also use my Theracane and other massage implements on the abdomen. I press hard, and I've never hurt myself. That's not to say that you can't hurt yourself, but I don't think it's so easy that you should be afraid to work on it.

Its penile pain. Afer masturbation, the penis shrinks in size, veins bulge out, and I feel as if something is dragging my penis from inside. I have absolutely no pain in my testicles.CppsDad wrote:Be more specific on your ejaculatory pain. Where is it based? Perineum?
Sometimes Sitz baths help. Should I think about applying ice to my penis during the flare-up? Or is it a very bad idea? I am really interested in knowing what people do during a flare-up. Please let me know.
Every doctor I visited advised me to ejaculate frequently.
I couldn't get my Theracane from USA. Should I use a tennis ball instead? Or should I just use my hands? I am 5'10" in height weighing 160lbs. I am pretty average built with a slim waistline.CppsDad wrote: As far as abdomen goes, this area has been CRUCIAL for me. for 'butt' strengthening and perhaps why weak glutes can cause us issues read this site - its pretty nasty looking but the information contained in there makes pretty good sense
