My experience may be of interest. Initially diagnosed with prostatitis and fed ABX for six months to no effect I was then referred to a Urologist, Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Gastroenterologist. Had numerous expensive investigations and was told there was nothing wrong with me. All the while in increasing pain and ending up on morphine. I then resolved to take matters into my own hands and based on my research on this site insisted on a referral to a Pain Management Clinic.
What a difference. After a thorough history taking and a simple DRE I was diagnosed with piriformis syndrome. This has enabled me to access appropriate teatment. I tried physiotherapy but apart from a centre in Bradford the treatment I needed was not available on the NHS locally.
I have tried Pregabalin (Lyrica) but the side effects knocked me out. I am now awaiting Botox injections and would be interested to hear from others who have received this treatment.

Gonslo, if you have been diagnosed with sciatica/piriformis consider doing exercises to strengthen your glutes. I would avoid Botox injections if possible because muscle does not regain total strength, only about 90%.
