Is blood in urine another common complaint?

Post by goodthx »

Anybody else ever get occasional blood in urine from this acursed condition of ours?

I have the usual meandering symptoms commonly described on this board (e.g., pain moving between right testicle, penis, perineum, rectum; muscle tension and occasional twitching), but I also get lower abdomen pain occasionally and it comes with blood in the urine. The blood turns the urine pink, but it is usually gone the next day and by that time the urine sample comes back normal.

About 3% of people develop blood in urine (gross hematuria). It's not a hallmark of CP/CPPS/IC/pelvic myoneuropathy.

It could be. How old are you, and do you have any other symptoms?

blood in urine

Post by goodthx »

I have the usually meandering symptoms described in my earlier post. This all came about a year ago after I had blood in the urine and severe flank pain-- doctors believed I had kidney stones or "gravel" or something. Never had the flank pain again, but then a couple of months ago I had blood in the urine a second time. (Pink urine.)

The flank pain is highly indicative of kidney involvement.

yes I figure it was "gravel" (Small kidney stones) and that when I passed them it aggravated the hell out of my pelvic muscles and nerves! I have had chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for ten months and unfortunately I have been too preoccupied with work to do much about it thus far.

I have blood in urine too but microscopic hematuria (not visible). Plus flank, perineum and below the ribs (at the front) pain ... which doesnt seem to match kidney problems.. I've got another appointment with another urologist this month to investigate that again.. sight!
