Trigger Point Massage Therapist

Post by Astrotitan »

If you can't find a PT who can do SP in your area or country a massage therapist who understands trigger point massaging is the next best thing (or even a PT who does TP). I finally found one that understood my problems and has seen the same types of problems in other people, woman and men. I took my trusty book AHIP with me and showed her and she confirmed all trigger points related to the symptoms I had. She works with a PT who takes care of woman's problems. She also confirmed what I suspected, most docs in my area will not suggest PT or TP massaging when required.

So, what did she find?
My back and pelvis area is so tensed up that she asked if I have had back injuries, which I havn't. She said I will needs lots of work to loosen my muscles and that there are lots trigger points that she can feel. She has started to get rid of the ones on the surface and she will systematically work towards the deeper TPs. She also said that we need to get to the root of the problem, that there is a cascading effect, leading to other TPs being formed and causing my problems concerning CPPS. Sometimes, what sets it off (muscles in other areas) can seem totally unrelated. She seems genuinely interested in helping me. Internal work she won't do but she does know of a Doc in my area that does!!! :-D :-D

My symptoms did increase a little, especially in the areas where I was getting the most discomfort, so things are looking up.

Hope this helps knowing that many of us on this forum can't get to a PT who does SP for one reason or another. I say, if there is a will, there is a way.

This is not medical advice (but probably better considering the advice I have been getting so far prior :x ), just my story on how I am dealing with the problem.
