Stress Eraser
Has anyone heard of or tried this device? http://www.stresseraser.com. Its a portable biofeedback device with a display showing you how well you are relaxing. I was thinking of buying one though it is rather expensive ($400). I am curious to know if anyone has any experience with it or any opinions.

I did a quick read of the site, and from what I can tell it is just a glorified heart rate monitor. Granted there is clearly a correlation between heart rate and your level of relaxation, it seems a little ridiculous to spend 400 dollars for a machine that does what a five dollar heart rate monitor wrist watch could do. The site says their stress-eraser computes the time lapse between your two previous heart rates to determine if it is constant, decreasing, or increasing. Decreasing would mean you are relaxing, increasing obviously the opposite, in this way it is supposed to help you train yourself to recognize your relaxation response. I dare say this could be done with a normal heart rate monitor and some patience.
