For years before these problems started, I consumed a fair amount of beer as a medium of relaxation. Of course the body suffers due to the negative alcohol effects. I note now foods containing beer like components cause problems, eg wheat, sugar, alcohol, malt.
I also note I used to sneeze a lot while drinking beer, perhaps a reaction to something my body was fighting and releasing histamines in the process.
My theory is that my body became sensitized to beerlike components and my immune system reacts negatively to their introduction, eventually creating tension, trigger points, etc.
Any thoughts on this theory? Is it crazy or otherwise?

Well, the good thing is that it doesn't much matter what we think because you can directly test whether less beer helps you. Its definitely worth your 'experimenting' with your diet.
Anyway, its always possible, so its plausible. Incidentally, did you drink at home on the couch, or sitting on a bar stool at a pub? Was it social drinking, or drinking alone?

* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

Beer
Beer and wine are definitely out for me due to the pain they cause. Reaction is relatively quick, say within the hour. I have not had either for a year.
As far as where, mostly at home; social or alone, I would say both equal.
As a sidenote, I can drink potato based vodka and tequila in moderation. It seems to offer some relaxation effect in the short term. A few days later though, the after effects seem negative.

My own experience with alchohol is that it exacerbates my usually negligible bladder symptoms. So I avoid it. I think you are wise to. Beer contains plenty of things that could bother you.
For example, MastCells or Webslave talks about gluten induced gut inflammation. He is on a gluten-free diet, at least at some point, I think, and seems to have found it relieved his CPPS. But he can fill you in on those details.
I aint a medical doctor, but your theory sounds possible to me.
Keep in mind, however, that people often have a psychological need to tie their chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome to some excess or perceived 'sin' in their past. Too much sex with too many partners, too much drinking, etc.
As long as you know your theory is separate from that tendancy, then I would say persue it and see where it leads ya. Just don't let guilt warp your perceptions. You don't deserve to suffer guilt with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome on top of the myopathy.
