I notice that the days following internal trigger point work with my PT, my butt is VERY sore (I can barely sit down). This tends to lessen over the week but is difficult to handle. In fact, I've sometimes had to take a vicidon to mellow out at night, though even vicodin doesn't work great on this kind of pain. Does anyone have any soltuions to lessen post-PT pain? Should I be taking an anti-inflamatory right after? The strange thing is if I take a Xanax before my session, the pain is less later that day but still just as bad the following days (Xanax just delays the post-PT to come). I know in my heart PT is helping but it sometimes feels like I am damaging my rectum in the process, at least that's how it feels. Any advice?
P.S. The good news is PT has completely elimnated my frequency problem. No more peeing every hour! Yippee! Now I just have to get rid of this sore butt and tip of penis!

Couple suggestions - how about Ultram (tramadol) for the pain and a hemorrhoid cushion?
I've found that doing some relaxation work at home right after a PT session helps take the edge of the pain.

Hang in there. This pain WILL get better. No pain, no gain! (I made that up myself!) :).
