Strange Pain (Possible Trigger Point?)

Post by Wolf »

I just noticed today that if I lift my testicles and press on the skin which would normally be hidden behind my testicles when they are hanging down (I suppose this is the top of the perineum), I get a strong pain just by pressing on that section. I have had pain in both the top portion of my rectum and my perineum but this is the first time I have noticed that if I literally press on the perineum just behind my testicles it is very tender and sore. Is this a chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome trigger point? Would self massage of the perineum be of any benefit? Should I be worried about something else wrong in this area of the body? I've had the urologist check my penis, testicles and inside my bladder but he's never examined the perineum (pardon my poor spelling!).

The perineum does have a lot of muscles, but you could also be pressing on nerve tissue that is already inflamed. Check out this site for some diagrams of what is there:
