In continental Europe, Dr Helga Pohl

Hello Dr Pohl

I run the website https://ucpps.men/

I have a lot of readers living in Europe who are looking for someone who knows how to do TRIGGER POINT release therapy. Can you perform this therapy? It usually means, with men, releasing trigger points in the abdomen and inside the rectum (requires digital anal penetration and a strong finger to release the muscle tension in the pelvic floor).

Please let me know!

Thanks for your mail. Nice to hear from you. Yes, I can perform Trigger Point release technique and I do this since 11 years with very good results. With men I am working inside the rectum and outside and also on the lower abdomen, on the muscles and on the subcutaneous connective tissue of the pelvis floor and abdomen. I also work with breathing, Hanna Somatics and some exercises for consciously reducing involuntary muscular tension. I am also working with women.

With best regards
Helga Pohl

Hi all,
The greatest suffering I have experienced in my life so far has been treated for 8 months now by a therapist trained by Dr Helga Pohl and my condition has been improving month after month, although I still have quite a way to go I guess. But I was lucky enough to start therapy before it got any worse and before I was put on heavy medication with horrible side-effects. For now, I would say I am 60-70% recovered, no urinary issues, diet or any food restriction at all for months now (if any at all ever since onset of symptoms ...).
The evolution of my condition has also been very strange to me as I mostly have discomfort and pain in the left part of my body, from knee to upper pelvic area, now mostly in left quadriceps. There is not point in trying to figure out by now what was the "perfect storm" (Prendergast and Rummer, Pelvic pain explained, 2016) for me but stress was probably just only one factor among many others. A right ankle injury I had 13 years ago might have had late effects.
For years, my body and muscles were probably able to compensate for weakness and dozens of TP's building up in different muscles but at some point, it all evolved into pelvic pain. Of course, it needs time now to get rid of all of them but a combination of good Pohl-type body therapy and dry needling has put me on the right track to recovery.
So for all those suffering from this condition in Germany or neighbouring countries, Pohl-type body therapy is definitely worth a try!
Best recovery to all of you
