Irritable bowels, does it bring to prostatitis?

Post by Claudio »

Hello

I recently read with much interest your articles about prostatitis. My life is really stressed by a terrible thing: I have costant, sometimes unbereable pains inside my groin area, in some cases thogether with burning inside the rectum. The pain switch from the right side, to the left side, it depends from the day, and seems to go away when I expell gasses, but when I go to defecate, if I do it too strongly, it'll be hurting for a long time!!
Medics said it was prostatitis and I feel pain pretty much when I have gasses, and of course after ejaculation.Sometimes the feeling of "bloated intestine" and burning gets so strong I actually have some difficulty too pee, for I can't feel it!

I made an ecography to the colon and fecal analysis, but nothing consistend showed up. Urine, uretra test din't give anything to me.
My question is: can irritable bowels sindrome bring to prostatitis?

Do you know any cases that this occurred?

Or is it just a kind of prostatitis this one I got?

Thanks, you've really helped me just reading this!!

IBS is associated with male chronic pelvic pain syndrome. The exact relationship is not clear.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I was diagnosed with IBS, but what I really had was a stress reaction in my abdominal muscles that mimicked all the same pain as IBS, and cause some of the same symptoms. I'm not a doctor, but my layman's guess is that chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome causes a lot of the same intestinal conditions as IBS, by irritating the same nerves (even if by different causes), and triggering some of the same chemical changes in the bowels.

I have similar bouts with IBS and prostatitis. According to naturopathic doctors poor gut health can cause inflammation in other parts of the body.
Age:33 | Onset Age:on and off since 16 | Symptoms: Semen Leakage when having a bowel movement, perineum pain, urethritits symptoms, Itching urethra, NO Bacteria ever found. | Helped By:reading A Headache in the Pelvis. | Worsened By: sitting, worrying about my problem (Antibiotics don't help, no bacteria in prostatic secretions).
