POT
I smoked pot for ten years everyday/ since I started have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome six months ago(now 24) I have not been able to smoke due to panic attacks when I do. It alsways had a calming effect on me before this stuff but now it makes me paranoid. anyone having luck with smoking it and CPPS?
NEVER SURRENDER

Doesn't bother me at all. I don't do it often but when I do it usually helps.
Age: 45 Onset: 43. | Symptoms: Tightness, spasms, burning and pain in the perineum. Occassional mild pain after urination in the perineum. Helped by: Cardura, quitting caffiene, relaxation, fiber, stand up workstation and some PT a year ago. Makes Worse: ANXIETY, ULTRAM, going to work, sitting or squatting too long, constipation (big problems), stress, and sometimes unexplainable.

Pot was always a trigger for me, I thought it would help relax all my muscles- but atually the sensation in my pelvic floor is much like when I drink too much alcohol.
Age:22 | Onset Age:16.5 | Symptoms: Pain with extended sitting, Pain shortly folllowing urination, mostly above pubic bone, Pain after defecation mostly around external sphincter, Pain after ejaculation mostly in Urethra | Helped By: Progressive and Moment to Moment Relaxation, Stretching, Bed Rest (laying down and relaxing muscles), Hot Baths, Hot Showers, | Worsened By: Alcohol (variably), Ejaculation, Urination, Defecation, Stress, Extended Sitting, Sleeping in the wrong position, tensing my muscles while writing or doing anything else stressful/intense, Progress: 65%, basically only dealing with post-ejaculatory pain, onset after about an hour, peaks for 3-6 hours and then remains sore for a day.

re: pot
I have a few thoughts on this.
1) Try a different variety. Some strains cause more paranoia/anxiety than others. You probably have a bag of highly sativa stuff and you should lean towards indica or a 50/50.
2) Choose wisely when you smoke. I find that if I will be doing something active, like mowing/gardening, cleaning, or anything that does not involve sitting on a couch, that I get zero tension or chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symtoms. If I sit at work in a chair all day, then go home, have a couple of tokes, then sit on the couch. My pelvic will be sore. Mostly the spots that I sit on, but also, my rectum tightens up. A joint and a movie is not the relaxing experience it used to be. But a joint and some basement remodeling is very enjoyable and twice as productive.
3) You probably need to cut back to a few times a week (and less dosage). This will reduce paranoia as well as chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms.
4) Do you drink pop when you smoke? the sugar and caffeine will compound the pelvic tension. I also find that pot makes me need to urinate more often, yet makes it harder to remember or want to go more often. Drink plenty of water and go pee more often when smoking and your pelvic will be less tense.
