Just got approved by the Social Security Administration for benefits after a two year long battle. Circumstances envolved are very unique though. They don't have a classification for this type of disorder, unlike back, neck, or leg disorders.
God I'm so happy.
Now I can make plans to get to the Stanford University in California for real help.
Has anyone else tried for Social Security Benefits due to lose of employment or unable to work because of CPPS/Prostatitis?

Re: Social Security Administration...
I suspect the key to this is getting a urologist to diagnose you with interstitial cystitis (IC). IC advocates have lobbied the federal government hard to recognize IC as an extremely debilitating condition.
This is not medical advice. Please consult your physician.

That's great. I wish you well in your treatment. I have not had to apply for S.S. benefits yet, but I almost thought I would have last year when my symptoms were at their worst.jonestpauper wrote:Just got approved by the Social Security Administration for benefits after a two year long battle. Medicare
By the way, you can begin getting Medicare two years from the date you were entitled to SS benefits (i.e. 2 years from the date your back benefits began being figured, which is either (a) the 6th month from your "disability onset date" for Title II disability or (b) two years from your onset date OR date you filed your petition (whichever is earlies) if you're strictly an SSI case (Title XVI).
I practice disability law and am glad to hear a CP suffered be awarded benefits solely for CP. You must have one helluva cool urologist if he deemed you disabled.
