dry needling vs pressure on trigger points

Post by benzo »

What is your personal experience on this?
My PT has performed some dry needling on the trigger points in my lower abdomen and back. There seem to be 2 schools of thoughts on this: pro and against.
Dr. Wise told me that he is not a big fan of the use of needles on trigger points in the pelvis although when browsing the forum there seem to be quite some people who have benefited from it...
Age: 38 | Onset Age: 27 | Symptoms: scrotal pain, perineal pain, pubic pain, lower abdominal pain, sometimes urgency, | Helped By: sometimes excercising | Worsened By: found no real triggers

Dry needling of my pelvic floor muscles was a turning point for me in my treatment. My PT needled the adductors and obturator internus. This led to reduced pelvic floor spasms for a few days at a time...have you tried Procaine injections into trigger points?
