Fluttering or twitching muscles in the groin / pelvis is common in this disorder.

I don't get many twitches in the pelvis any more. However, there were days near the beginning of my initial flare-up where my bulborethral muscles started jumping around for hours. These days, I only get long twitching spells in my legs, although I don't get pain there or even in the pelvis afterwards.

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

I have constant twitches in my legs, back, feet, thighs, and arms. These never go away. I was wondering if this could be a part of some condition or if it is just the high level of stress and anxiety I am under right now. It started at the same time as using Cirpo for a month. COuld this have messed me up? Testicle paion and twitching have been symptoms of lyme and I was bit by a deer tick on the Eastern Shore of Virginia several months prior to its start.

Hehe I'm glad someone else experienced phantom phone calls too! Now I don't feel so strange.

I think twitching is very much a common symptom of stress and anxiety. There's only so much tension muscles can take before they start spasming, even if the spasm is very light. Have you ever experienced muscles spasm in your eyelids after straining your eyes for too long? I've had this dozens of times being that I work in front of a computer screen all the time.

Matt had severe twitching one night. He jumped up out of bed grabbing his stomach, he said the pain was so bad he couldn't take it. The pain went from his upper abdoman to his lower abdoman and down to the base of his penis. It lasted for about an hour. The funny thing is that since that happened he seems to be improving. I gladly can report he has been without pain for about a week. We don't know what contributed to the relief. He still has one more test at the doctors (tomorrow). I know he's not going to want to go but I think he should. But I'm almost aftraid that it could irritate something and start over. (he's having the dye injected into his baldder). But I also think there is a simple test for lyme disease. Tell your doctor!! Can't hurt...especially if it can ease your mind. I'll talk to you soon.

Bronco, I don't know the answer to that. Sorry. :)

Matt, have you started any sort of stretching or therapy yet? I once again encourage you to not wait until the doctors do all their tests before you start doing some self-management of your condition. I tried to avoid doing things that would start off a new round of symptoms too, but this never mattered - it only prolonged the eventual flare up. You've had a lot of tests, and all your symptoms point to CPPS. So while you are going through the eventual 6 months of testing your doctors will put you through, start following the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol and get ahead in the game.
