urethral itching

I have been experiencing urethral itching for the past few days. The itching seems to be mostly closer to the penis tip but it is definately inside the urethra. It seems to occur mostly at night. i.e. I will fall asleep for about 30 minutes and then wake up with the itching then it will subside and I will fall back asleep. This goes on through the night. I had a cystoscopy about a year ago and everthing looked fine but this symptom is brand new. Just started 3 days ago. My question is this: does anyone else have similar symptoms? Is urethral itching common in CPPS? Thanks so much for your replies.

yes, just another symptom. i've had this since 2001, and urethral itching has been a mainstay from the beginning. hard to believe that itching can be a referred sensation from muscle tissue, but it's true. my itching is completely gone from therapy.
