Kind of wacky theory, interested in any opinions on it
In the course of researching prostatitis, one of the things many men have talked about is how CP affects their erections. I have read about men having erections when they wake up in the morning, and this seemed normal to me as I often have them as well. But then I read men speaking about how hard it is to urinate with an erection. This I didn't understand. In the morning, I have always woken up with two things: an erection and an insane desire to pee. But I never had any trouble urinating with an erection. According to the articles I'v read, the trouble is caused by the fact that the body, anticipating orgasm when sexually aroused, shuts off the bladder entrance so that semen will not go into the bladder. Is this truly how the body works? Perhaps, then, if I never had any trouble urinating with an erection, that mechanism in my body of shutting off the bladder was somehow dysfunctional. Maybe over the years, partial retrograde ejaculation irritated the bladder. I also now recall that I never masturbated more than once in a day because a second orgasm, even spaced far apart on the same day, felt uncomfortable and somehow "not right." For a long time I just thought this was typical, that the male body had to "recharge" so to say, but now I've read of men masturbating or having sex multiple times a day. So what do you guys think, is there any importance to all of this or does it have nothing to do with my CP? Thanks.

The bladder sphincter does close off during ejaculation so that the semen is ejected through the urethra and out. A side effect of Flomax is retrograde ejaculation. The reason is because the alpha blocking action of Flomax relaxes the sphincter allowing for less obstruction, but the sphincter cannot close off completely during ejaculation and therefore the semen seeks the path of least resistance which is into the bladder. I have no knowledge if retrograde ejaculation can cause CPPS, though I think probably not.
