Almost Ten Years!!
This is not to scare anyone new to this. Its just another reason everyone should be thankful for this forum. Almost ten years ago now I started having really bad burning in my urethra after urinating, I seen a urologist who said I needed to see a psychologist and it was all in my head. I seen another one and he said I have Prostatitis and there was nothing that could be done, learn to live w/ it. I went to my sisters house who had a computer and started to do some research, I found nothing good, I just wanted to die. I was so confused and had absolutely nobody to talk to that had any idea what was going on or what I was going through. I'm thirty years old now, married with two children. At the time all this started I could hardly work, everyone thought I was just lazy and told me to ignore it . I went through 4 cystoscopys, probably 20 DREs, nerve blocks, months and months of antibiotics, Xrays, MRIs, bladder distentions w/ a biopsy, every herbal remedy I came across, you name it , I tried it. I started my own business about 7 years ago (construction work) of all things, and could not get insurance because I was diagnosed w/ prostatitis, even though nobody said that anything was actually wrong w/ my prostate. I have had just about every symptom over the years and have had to just grit my teeth and bare it. I have seen a couple of PTs when I have had the time and the money. I seen Rhonda Katarinos one time about six months ago, got treated and felt great for 2 weeks for the first time in almost ten years (but the trip and treatment totalled over six hundred dollars. I seen her a month later and I had a horrible flare up, so I quit. But reading the posts on this site I read that flare ups are normal in the begining. The whole point of my story is that everyone on here should be thankful for this site ( and make their donations). Just imagine how it would of felt if you were told you had to live like this forever, and you had no place to look for answers or other people going through the same thing. I thought I was the only one for years. We can all be thankfull for this website, the webmaster and the moderators for making it possible. When you have somewhere to go and talk to others dealing with the same thing, it deffinetly makes this problem a lot easier to deal with, and now knowing that there are treatments out there now that didn't exist a few years ago. I am just waiting to hit the lottery so I can stop woking 24/7, lose the stress that comes running a buisness, supporting 2 kids and a wife, and take the time I need to start getting PT treatments and put these years of pain behind me!!!! The reason I wrote that this is not to scare anyone is because when some websites started popping up years ago I would read about guys having this for so many years and it scared the hell out of me!! If this site would of been around then I could have been spared a lot of unnecessary tests, medications, pain and probably have enough money to take a couple years off AND get treated.

There you go folks. Another satisfied customer!
Is your wife involved in doing PT with you? If not, I'd very seriously consider getting her to help out. She's free and you might be likely to get treatment more often.
