My symptoms (mostly urinary) are worst first thing in the morning with 45minute frequency. But they gradually improve through the day and after lunchtime, its as if I'm back to normal almost with 2hour frequency.
What changes? I'm not drinking a lot in the evenings or anything obvious.
Does inflammation happen overnight and slowly subside during the day? Is it related to hormone levels which rise during sleep?
Currently trying any accredited quercetin product with some success, but will then try Xatral which hopefully will fix me up.
Cheers,
Ed
So why are symptoms worst first thing in the morning?

Most people with this stuff are the oposite...very low symptoms in the AM and builds throughout the day....somedays mine don't even kick in till around 4:30 after sitting at work all day and then settles back down by about 8:00.
I usually urinate much better first thing in the AM too....

Probably yes, but I'm getting up at 7.30, drinking perhaps 500ml in two doses before 9.30. Then 45min frequency all the way till lunchtime.
Not usually up in the night either. Doesnt seem to fit the mould, especially as I'm sat at a computer all day and my symptoms get better as the day goes on rather than worse!

I find I'm not too bad in the morning and it gets worse throughout the day until I get back home again and it starts to lessen as the evening goes on.
It seems to mirror a working day - where it gets worse the more tired I get and when I get home I start to relax (plus do relaxation techniques) and the pain lessens.
I very rarely have to take painkillers at night.
Richard.

YEs the morning is defenitley different.
Actually I knida know from the morning if I am going to have a bad day or a good one. Cause the pain starts to kick in slowly after I wake up.
As for Urinary symptoms, I generally have some discomfort in the morning, but then as frequency goes it s much worse at night. frequency is definetly increasing during the day.
I have to note here that I do not have nocturia even if I drink a 6 beers before sleeping. and while I excpect to pee a lot of quantity in the next morning I do not. It becomes just more concentrated.

I find that some of my muscles are highly constricted if I sleep on my side without support. Now when I sleep on my side, I place a pillow between my legs and that helps a lot.
Also, I notice that if I wake with an erection, I am in more pain. So, the more I dream, the more in pain I am in the morning. Dr. Wise states in his book that many of us chronic-tensers tense as much when we sleep as when we are awake (like people who grind their teeth when sleeping). This could be you.
Try doing some stretching and massaging before bed. And as long as you are up at 4AM, perhaps a 5 minute stretching session than too; at least until your symptoms start improving. IF muscle tension is causing your urinary frequency, then anything you can do to reduce the tension, stretch and relax the muscles is worthwhile.
